Shaun Crawford (DB Notre Dame)

Just watched his HUDL film. Despite having similar height and looking like a solid hitter, he's no Antoine Winfield. He's not a 5* talent either, IMO. With that said though, he has some serious wheels and shows real flashes of brilliance in coverage... lots of God-given natural ability. Ought to be worthy of an Ohio State offer and surprised he hasn't received one yet, but I'm sure there's a reason (Foregone conclusion he was going up north? Not sure).

Congrats to the skunkbears, though. That's a good DB.

Foregone conclusion he's going up North. Doubt his lack of offer from us has anything to do with talent. I'm sure the staff knew not to waste their time.

BP's recruiting team does a very good job so I trust them more than ESPN who is reporting he picked Michigan and had an offer from Ohio State.

Most recruiting websites do not list an offer, but I don't think it's because of caliber of player. Probably a combination of the fact that he's a '15 recruit and they haven't seen him, or possibly b/c everyone knew where he was going. Probably the former.

We'll assume no offer simply because he was TTUN's to lose. Since
they're both class of '15 Ath, how does he compare to EGW ?

He probably didn't get offered because

a) it's still super early
b) he didn't camp at Ohio State

I think Crawford is a good prospect, but it seems like Urban only offers the truly elite kids and kids he sees up close in his camp this early.

Completely different type of player than EGW imho. EGW is a true offensive weapon at slot receiver, RB, return man, and he's quicker and more elusive than Crawford but not as fast. He's also a little bit taller than Crawford. Their futures are on opposite sides of the ball. Crawford looks like a headhunter on defense, despite being only 5'9, 165 pounds.

He's not afraid to throw his body around and into the ball carrier, and his speed is as good as it gets, 10.53 in the 100m as a sophomore. By the time he's a senior Crawford should have a real shot at breaking Brandon Saine's state record of 10.38 in 100m if Crawford sticks with track and continues to develop physically. With his physical style of play and his speed, if he was 6'1 he'd have a great shot at being the #1 CB in the entire 2015 class. The lack of height is a real concern imo.

Would Crawford switch to Ohio State? He did just receive an offer from the Buckeyes two weeks ago.

“Michigan has always been my dream,” Crawford said. “When we were little playing NCAA, we’d always just play each other. We could never watch a game together because it just gets crazy.”

At one point, Sabrina Michelle Crawford, Shaun’s mom, said an SEC squad was scouting both players, and she and Shelly Woodruff, Campbell’s mom, discussed how much fun it would be if the two were roommates.

But both Campbell and Crawford said it never really crossed their mind to not go to their respective dream schools.

“We actually got our opportunity,” Crawford said. “Some people don’t get that. We weren’t going to just pass it up.”

Crawford also said that Campbell is doing his job in trying to convince Crawford to switch his recruitment.

“He’s very set on Ohio State, and me having another year in high school with the decisions I have to make, I’m with Michigan, as of now,” Crawford said. “ But he’s grown up, he’s always been the Ohio State guy and I’ve always been the Michigan guy. That rivalry, even on the track, we’ve always had a rivalry. This is just going to add to it more really.”

But if Campbell had his dream scenario, they’d both be Ohio State guys.

12/6

By The Bank.....Visiting Michigan next weekend & plans on talking to the OSU staff after the B1G Championship. Says he might visit Ohio State with his family, but not for a junior day (1 on 1 time).

I like where this is trending.....and if the visit happens.... :sneaky:

The Stadium and Main folks are showing signs of anxiety about this.
