So, updating, they sold, albeit not thru StubHub, but VividSeats. Lucky for me, because I was playing roulette with prices between the two, and I'd lowered the Stub price last night. Bottom line, got my money back and paid $1.43 for my own ticket. However, I'd kinda thought I'd be financing at least part of the trip as well, so it's still a less-painful but pricey lesson. Best deal financially would have been to watch the game on TV & sell all of them.
The only reason I was able to roll the dice and double up is because VividSeats does not release the tickets until you reply to a confirmation email, so it wasn't possible to simultaneously have two people buy the same tickets and end up in hot water. (I immediately logged onto Stub and cancelled my listing before I even replied to VividSeats.)
My conclusion for the future would be to ditch Shoowin, seeing as how $210 of my costs were for transaction and reservation fees. Since apparently one can buy seats for Indy in the summer, no reason in the world not to just go directly to them. Would make any resale one wanted to gamble with a lot more negotiable. Aside from the HUGE fact that
any team could use the seats if they came from Ticketmaster, so you're not dependent on tOSU having a good season if you're looking to resell, the biggest plus to me is the control over seat location. I'm sure if I'd had first or second row seats, instead of the row 20 that I was assigned without any choice, those would have sold faster. Granted, it looks like the first Ticketmaster seats in July were not in the closest sections, but I'd still rather pick up those for my own potential use, and maybe hover over the keyboard on whatever moment all the rest go on sale to take my shot at any resale gambles.
Here's to watching an Instant Classic game with the Good Guys emerging triumphant. Hope everyone attending has a safe and happy trip.
