On ESPN.com...

Top 50 players...

The rankings will be revealed throughout the week.
Heisman Trophy winners. All-Americans. Hall of Famers. Collectively, they were some of the greatest players in college football history. During their careers, they led their teams to titles, and had nicknames like "Mr. Inside," "Rocket" and the "Boz." They were the real big men on campus.
But once the marching bands and pep rallies stopped, they barely made a ripple in pro football. Because of injuries, military commitments and other career decisions, many of the sport's legends never made an impact in the NFL.
Once the head of the class in college football, they can simply be known for what they did on Saturdays. -- Mark Schlabach

Simply seeing Nile Kinnick at #48, and looking at most of the names rated higher on this list, is enough to identify it as another worthless piece of ESPN crap.

I agree. I thought some would like to debate over it though. And... I am at work.... I have the spare time.

Update... and the Big Ten lead increases.

Yeah, any list of celebrated college players that didn't do jack shit in the pros is going to be clinched by the Big Ten going away.

That is the cross we have to bear since we added Penn State. Those jackwagons drag us down like a boat anchor. I think I could do a list of 50 NFL busts just naming players from Penn State over the past 15 years or so.

No...wait. They left town. Whew, they probably found the super secret ring and the super secret memo about Ohio State's secret double probation, but they are keeping it safe to protect our brand. They've always got Ohio State's back, you can count on that.

OK, let's be honest, Trev Alberts is ranked a bit low and should be #1--I always loved his insightful, balanced opinions--and where is Kirk Herbstreit?

But, they did rate our guy #1. I mean, hey, that's pretty fair. These ESPiN guys KNOW what they are talking about and they ranked our guy #1. That's real validation!

Woo-hoo! Hop about. Squeal with glee. All is forgiven. ESPiN are great!

I'll be sure to follow the other lemmings over there to run up their traffic count and ad revenues just to see them say that we are A-OK. I just can't wait until they post their ranking of the guys who got it done on Tuesdays. I mean with that Portnoy or Morrie guy or whatever. Tuesdays. That's gonna be the web killer that week.
