The Most Power-Drunk
I've been out in Phoenix for the majority of this month closing down our office here. I have a team of six guys working for me, and it's been a ton of work. It's also been a ton of fun...which, after doing the math, I have discovered that I have averaged about 3.5 hours of sleep per night over the last 8 days, and have yet to sleep 6 hours at any one time.

I feel awful.

I'm now getting a cold.

My eyes hurt.

I can't see very well - everything is blurry.

So, here's the question:

Do I take a nap today, and hopefully feel better, or keep up this routine until I start to hallucinate? I think I'm pretty close, and I've never hallucinated before (sober), so I'm kind of curious as to what that's like. Or, the fact that I'm actually serious about this could just be a strong indication that I definitely need to sleep. I'm tired.

I should add that the wife and kid are coming out to visit, and will be here tonight. The problem is, if I nap, then I won't be able to sleep well tonight (I think- historically I can't sleep for shit when I nap during the day, but I've also never gone this long with so little sleep), or at least go to sleep early, but the wife and kid are going to be on EST, which is three hours behind me. In other words, they're going to be tired tonight and then wake up early tomorrow.

My employees all left to go back to Ohio this morning, so my choices are basically as follows:

Go back to the hotel and nap.

Go to the casino and gamble.

Stay at work and go blind.

The family lands at about 6:30 local time, which will feel like 9:30 to them. Oh, and my wife is about three months pregnant, so will probably be tired herself.

Thoughts?

Take your nap.

I go two days a week without any sleep. I get up on Thursday at 3:00pm and don't go to bed until Friday night. I get up Sunday Morning and don't go to bed until Monday morning. I do this every single week while working third shift for four years.

Take your nap. You need it

My record is 53 hours. I kept seeing my roommate in the corner of my eye dancing in the corner of the room.

My answer is that you should stay up for a little while longer. Start writing stuff down. Troppo ought to stop by for a visit.

Naaaa! That would just completely kick his ass!

Cover your eyes and ears if you can. Don't eat before you lay down.
Darken the room as much as possible.
You won't need 8 hrs, just a couple good ones! :tongue2:
