PORT CHARLOTTE, FLA. – The Ohio State baseball team fell, 5-4, to Illinois State in its second contest at the 2016 Snowbird Classic Saturday afternoon in Port Charlotte, Fla. With the loss, the Buckeyes fall to 6-3-1, while the Redbirds improve to 3-6 in 2016.

With runners on first and third, a ground out scored as a fielder’s choice pushed around the eventual game-winning run. In the bottom half, the Buckeyes had two runners aboard, but failed to even the tides vs. right-hander reliever Jack Landwehr.

Only thing that really bothers me about the last few games is the continuing problem with fielding errors. Absolutely killed them last year and starting rear it's ugly head again. Could very well be 8-1-1 going into Vegas, or even better, but 6-3-1 is where they stand. I've seen teams start worse and do ok so it's not an end to the season already but they have to fix this shit before the schedule really gets heating up.

YEa the fielding error problem is definitely constant and costly. I'd expect this team to be inconsistent like this all year, they have the capability of breaking out....but they just are not good enough to do it on a consistent basis.
