SACRAMENTO - The state Legislature is about to weigh in on a question that stirs impassioned debate among moms and dads: Should parents spank their children?
Assemblywoman Sally Lieber, D-Mountain View, wants to outlaw spanking children up to 3 years old. If she succeeds, California would become the first state in the nation to explicitly ban parents from smacking their kids.

You have got to be kidding me....there is a huge difference between child abuse and discipline....There is no reason for this to even be brought up. Let parents raise their children the way they feel fit. I was spanked my whole life growing up. I sure in the hell didn't grow up as a criminal becuase "I had a tough childhood..."

I don't get it. Don't you guys understand if your child acts up or misbehaves he or she is just expressing his or herself. I know for one my child will recieve no punishment and be allowed to run free if he or she likes. It is so regressive to scold your children. It is the 21st century. We all need to drive Prius', listen to Hollywood, and let people express themselves. (Unless they think different than us, then we should bash them like we are in 2nd grade and call them names.)
