Sparty takes on Kentucky

If anything MSU played that end of regulation shot totally horrible. They should had fouled whether it had been from behind the arc or inside. Had they foul hard enough behind the arc, a Kentucky player would have had to make all 3 to secure the tie or just a regular 2 shot would have given them less hope and MSU would have had the ball with a couple tics on the clock left to end it. But all in all it was a fantastic game, go Spartans - Way to rep the BT.

Also, Im VERY glad another OSU tradition didnt come in the balance (if Tucky were to win) - Being the only school to face nother in state college in the Championship Title Game. If I recall correctly we lost that game in the early 60s and havent played Cinci since then....Tucky/Louisville had a nice shot but fell short by a hair this year.

That game didn't need to be decided by a "pussy hair" whether it be a sneaker or a touch. It ended the way it needed to end, by letting the kids play the game. What a great weekend of college hoops. I basically have no interest in who wins or loses in this thing, yet was completely glued to the screen for the past 4 days. People can say what they want to about what the greatest annual sporting event is, but at least for the year 2005 NOTHING will top "March Madness." Congrats to the final-4 teams and all those that competed this weekend, it was a great show.

Ditto.

For what it's worth, I thought they didn't call the foul at the end of regulation because it looked like Sparks was jumping into MSU's player to try and draw the foul. If he had gone straight up to shoot and got bumped, I think it would have been called.

I'm pretty sure that technically, any shooter can jump or flail about any way they want during the shot, so long as they do not infringe on a defender's established position. Getting hit on the arm during a shot - no matter how deliberately awkward, is still technically a hack. The refs just swallowed the whistle - for better or worse.
