Split Thread: Off-Campus Housing Stipends

you have to understand, USC posters have some recruiting delusions at times.

last year you heard with the same certainty that teddy ginn verballed to usc when he was out there. They were also positive that adrian peterson had told carrol he was dropping his ou commit for usc. cameron colvin was playing oregon and michigan because he committed to usc a month earlier. You heard them all.

the fact that the post is stating that a group of usc recruits, most of which werent even there, stood up and silently committed is all you need to hear.

Their board is quite funny. people are asking how these guys could have committed when only one of the alleged commits actually visited there. the only response was i was there and i saw it. clowns.

LOL

we must have varying definitions of verbal commitments then if ginn and colvin did verbal to usc.

also what is the word regarding walker ashley, is he just blowing smoke about osu or is he serious?

Stripes,
Are you saying it's true that Ted Ginn Jr verbaled to USC on his visit last year? I have a tough time with that one.

But you know what you're talking about and if you are saying that Gwaltney verbaled then I think he's out of the running. The rich get richer.

I believe it happened...100%

However, I will be surprised if it is sticks...kid on the other coast, heisman weekend, NC game coming up, toast of the town wherever they go, and other players verballed at the same time. Very easy to get caught up in a moment IMO.

Now he heads home, talks to parents, friends, other family, and the other coaches pick up the pace.

This isn't over yet.

this is the dumbest thing i have ever read. WE pay THEM to live in the dorms idiot
i am nearly certain osu (and all colleges so as to stop ESPN in their tracks on this one) pays all scholarship student athletes a living stipend if they choose to live off campus that covers rent, utilities, laundry, and meals. if a student gets a deal cheaper than the cost of living allowance they pocket the cash.

i could be wrong here though, but i thought i heard that somewhere.

The only thing I don't get is why would a top notch RB that isn't like Mo Wells and catch out of the backfield go to USC? Their program isn't suited for a more power type RB. I know Lindell White is there but can you imagine if he played where he ran the ball a lot? It would be insane.

so basically we could legally cheat the NCAA system if we were to artificially inflate the cost of living in columbus (say perhaps by including some of the pricier suburbs in the figures and ignoring some of the low rent burbs). that would increase the amount of left over cash that the players could pocket after meeting rent and whatnot.

i don't want to see us break any rules, but i love bending them to the point of snapping.
