KEEP AN EYE ON
RB Lydell Ross -- Ross was the only consistent offensive threat the Buckeyes had against North Carolina State, and he needs to be the player the team leans on until the rest of the offense catches up.

ROSTER REPORT
How long will coach Jim Tressel stay with quarterback Justin Zwick if the offense continues to struggle? Troy Smith is waiting in the wings, but the feeling now is that Zwick will continue to be the starter ... at least for another couple of weeks.

I'm at a loss for words

If you focus on those quotes, you'll note that there's no context given. There's no basis to judge when those quotes were made. My observation is that many, if not most, 'reporters' don't report - they simply put a spin on old news or someone else's story. Someone looking at news clips from the Cincy game might have made these observations. No real surprise, given the source.

The problem is that these guys don't watch the games, they look at the box scores and stats. They probably saw Ross' one TD and looked at his season stats. That's why most of these sites are absolute jokes, they either go just by numbers or they steal other peoples ideas...nothing original.

The comments about Ross I don't get (like everyone else here). I tend to agree that Zwick didn't look good, but for crying out loud, it was the kid's third ever start, and it was his first "big" game. He was a little tight...it happens. It's just a tad early to make making the doomsday call to Troy Smith.

CBS also had Dodd do an article on the weakness of the Big East and how it may affect WVU if they run the table. I was ok with that, but as you read it, he is really just giving out his view on the CFB landscape by conference.

I was still ok with that, BUT he fails to mention the B10 or any single B10 team when he's talking about CFB in general!! Their pro-SEC anti-B10 bias is amazing, but I still visit that site more than ESPN's. I hate that network so deeply, CBS's seems just a childish annoyance to me.
