Game Thread Spring Game, Sat 04/15/17 @ 12:30 ET (BTN)

JT is who he is. Players don't make huge leaps forward at this stage of their careers.
And that's my concern. Never was a great deep ball thrower really even in his great freshman year.

If he can be better throwing in that 15-25 yard range that's all we need. Going deep though isn't his game which will be interesting to watch considering we want to throw it deep

If you can't go deep, you take an option off the table. Cardale Jones blew up three good defenses with long balls that opened up the field for Zeke. If he can't get this right, I don't think JT will be the starting quarterback by mid-season.

I just watched the game since I recorded it. My son told me how awesome JT looked. I thought he looked OK, not great, but in his defense he did not get as many chances or opportunities either. With that said, I thought JT looked like the 3rd best QB on the field today. I posted last year that I thought Burrow should have been given some more reps and a shot at times. I thought he had better fundamentals than JT. Today, Burrow was the second best QB in my humble opinion. I thought Haskins demonstrated the most arm strength, great placement, and the ball comes out quick with some velocity on it. He really impressed me.

I am not sure exactly what routes we were running that were different from last year, but there sure seemed to be some guys WIDE ASS OPEN today that we haven't seen in two years, against what should be one of the better secondaries in the nation next year. That is more than encouraging. I am giving that credit to Wilson. Also, for our Oline to suck so bad, facing what most agree to be the best and deepest Dline in the country, they more than held their own.

I'll have to watch the replay later, but my gut reaction watching the game live was Burrow would probably get too much credit for wearing a black no contact jersey today.

I don't know that two of his long TD passes would have occurred if he were live. Looked to me like he had a DE run by him on one play and an unblocked LB came free on another.

I noticed this as well. Hilliard pulled up and didn't even raise a hand on one TD. Haskins was also beneficial from a "Live" touch.
