Anyone on here from there or somewhere near it? I am from Springfield. Went to Springfield South. My parents live on Selma Road (technically I could call it my house but I live in Morrill Tower and will live on College and 10th next year so, meh). Just wondering as its cool to actually meet people from your area and talk about bullshit.

Does Columbus count? :) I used to go to Springfield all the time to go climbing though. 68 north one mile from 70, turn around, park off the side of the road -- Springfield Gorge.

I think Buckeyegrad is from Springfield. He's never said what state he lives in, though. . .

I live in Springfield, USA.

It's a great city. We are probably most noted for our burning tire pile, old monorail track, and the nuclear power plant. Of course, we also take pride in our university--Go Atoms!--and our founder, Jedediah Springfield. Former President George H.W. Bush even lived here for a few weeks until he had a falling out with his neighbors.

There was the embarrassment of having our stadium collapse a few years back, especially when the mayor refused to take any responsibility. Another black eye for the city is the mafia's strong presence here...primarily due to the incompetence of our police force.

However, as long as you live on the right side of town (i.e. the one with the old area code number) Springfield isn't a bad place to live. My personal advice to anyone who would want to move here: stay away from the surrounding neighborhood of Evergreen Terrace and you will be just fine.
