High School St. IGNATIUS -PENN

Penn High School (the school district I live in) has just added St. Ignatius to it's schedule the next 2 years. Penn is one of the best in Indiana and won around 5 state titles in the last 10-12 years. I have heard that St.Ignatius
is realy good but down from where they were. ANY THOUGHTS?

ND,

No offense, but what is high school football like in Indiana? HS football in west MI is not at the level as NE OH, but it is improving.

St. Iggy's is always dangerous, even in a down year. They just beat St. Ed's this weekend and St. Ed's was a top 25 national program this year until the OHSAA turned four of their wins into losses because of an ineligible player.

Ought to be good games for both teams as playing good competition makes you better.

As for the Ohio Football being better than Indiana football all I know is that IN. Ben Davis a team that got beat at semi-state last year beat Ohio State Champ
Cincy Elder 31-7 last year! So I would not say that Ohio high school football is that much better.

Now I understand why you annoy people. I never said OH football was better than IN. All I asked was what it was like in that God forsaken state of yours.

Michigan -YEAH !! Your right you didn't say that but you sure as hell tried to imply it so don't turn it around on me ! And you sure as hell didn't like/expect me to show you that the 3 or 4th best team in Indiana last year beat the snot out of the Ohio State Champ and if I remember correctly they did it 2 years in a row...

Notre Shame,

Boy, you really figured me out. This sentence really implies a lot: "No offense, but what is high school football like in Indiana?" Glad you took the warning at the beginning of the sentence to heart.

Also, I cannot find where Ben Davis played Cincy Elder last year or even the year before. Cincy Elder did have one loss last year, to an IN team. That team, Warren Central, beat Ben Davis twice last year.

Now I understand why notre shame fans are not only arrogant, but ignorant.

Warren Central playedCincy Elder you are correct and my source was wrong !! WC ws the Indiana State Champ last year. Anyway the end result and proof is still correct.

But still be a man and stand up to it!! The "no offfense" said it all! BE A MAN!! You are the one that started questioning how good teams were I was just asking for info...

Notre Shame - huh better look in the mirror at your own team !!

Warren Central hmm dont know but articles in USA today had Ben Davis beating them anyway it does not matter as one top Indiana team still smoked them. Waren Central was the 5A State Champ though.

Dont deny your meaning be a man and stand up to it!! The "no offfense" said it all! BE A MAN!! You are the one that started questioning how good teams were I was just asking for info...

NDChief, get a grip. I see NOTHING in BiM's post to suggest that he was slighting Indianna football. The folks who don't like ND would have laid into you and this post. BiM was polite and you are now starting to sound dumb, especially for pushing the issue further.

FWIW ... Cincinnati Elder went 14-1 last year. The lone loss was to Indianapolis Warren Central. The score was 45 to 20, an away game for Elder at Ryle Sports Festival (where ever that is) on 8/30/2003 (Elder's 2nd game of the season).

3 yards ! What part of the no offense thing dont you get ?? Or what lis high school football like in Indiana?? He had doubts about Indiana football. It is not that hard to figure out. Yeah he was polite but when I showed that a team from Indiana could be S.I. he started with the insults....

What was really dumb was the Notre Shame comment from him!

I took the "No Offense" to mean exactly that ... don't take offense. Which you did. If you read and consider his whole post in context (especially this sentence: Ought to be good games for both teams as playing good competition makes you better) I'd say he was paying the Indiana football squad a compliment. If that is correct, then I assume his "No Offense" comment was genuine and sincere, not sarcastic. He also answers your questionabout St. Ignatius and compares what football is like where he lives. Sounds harmess to me and further underlines that his first question "what is football like in Indiana?" is sincere.

He second post further underscores his original meaning. By this time BiM is annoyed because you misread his original intent and took a "jab" at football in Ohio. Yes, he had doubts about Indiana football, from what I can tell honest and sincere ones.

Why not just say there are few teams that seem comparable, cite your example, and leave at that?

Everyone knows that Indiana is well known for it's HS basketball, but give someone the benefit of the when they don't know that there are a few good HS football teams as well.
