Alright, well to simplify; realese date is July 27th. If you go to any Gamestop and pre-order or put more money on an existing pre-order you get a beta key for SC2. Unless otherwise invited.

It seems like we have a decent crowd so lets post up our identifiers and times that you usually play. At the very least we can get some unranked games in just to knock the rust off.

I have this afternoon off, I have some errands to do and a late lunch with a friend. But I'll probably be on around 3ish if anybody is down for a couple quick matches.
 
My identifier in the Beta is craftman.craftman (i didn't realize they wanted to names, haha). I get off work at 4, and have some errands to run...but should hopefully be on tonight. Anyone who has the Beta just add me as a friend, my identifier is pretty easy to remember.

Like i said in the other thread, i'd love to get a serious 2v2 or 3v3 team together once the game releases. So if people are interested just let me know. We can use the Beta as practice, so once the game releases we know exactly what we are doing. If we get enough people that play the game, we could even have our own tournaments.

Buckeneye, i added you to my friend's list in the Beta. You literally must have gotten off like 5min before i got on, because your last game ended 10min after when i checked your profile.

I love the ranking system they use with the different divisions or 100 people in each. I got totally screwed doing 2v2 last night to get my ranking. Out of the 5 games i played...in 3 of them my teamate left in the middle of the game, another one the guy hardly knew how to build another building, and actually won the last game pretty easily.

If you want to do some 2v2 sometime just let me know.

Sure thing; I've been just fucking around with the Zerg in 1's. That use to be my thing, looks like I'm back to old school (protoss)

I think I'm 13-6 in 2's right now. Most everybody I've played with in the past couple of days are pretty terrible.


I'll probably be on a bit later if your down for a game or two. I also have my own vent if you wanted to use it.

I should be on later tonight as well. I'd be down for some games. I was Zerg back in the day for 1v1 ladder, but i really don't like them in the Beta. They seem slow and weak. I'm loving the Protoss currently, and have no tried Terran yet.

Its 7:35 EST right now, I'll be on around 8.

I agree about the Zerg, everything is just wrong with them now. Hydra's are far to deep in the tech tree, on top of being quite expensive. Then they have a melee attack against ground that kills their effectiveness as a solo unit group.

Overlords require an upgrade to be detectors = garbage


Terran are a bitch race. The reapers need to be nerfed but if you can get by that initially you can own.

I played some over spring break, and my friend offered me a key, as he had received another one from Blizzard or something... And I made the outrageously difficult, and yet oh so wise choice, of turning it down, for fear that my grades would drop like a rock :P (I love video games, seriously, huge nerd... especially for Blizzard games). But over the summer I'll probably be playing it once the official comes out.

I see no sarcasm font. so if your serious then go to gamestop, drop the $5 and download the beta. Its practically the full game (until the end of july) and you can determine if you want to purchase the full version.


Patch realese today. Big things of note.

-Ultralisks were nerfed.

-Overseer's now spawn infested Terran. (I'm not too cool with that.)

-Void Ray's had a range decrease.... eh, again I'm indifferent about it.

-Facebook integration? - Ok, so I guess you need to know who's a huge nerd.

-Custom Map publication - Awesome. Can't wait for TvB or Fastest with Zero Clutter.

- Oh yeah, 3v3 and 4v4 now enabled!

Joined the beta a little over a month ago. It's been fun and painful at the same time as I am a Zerg player. With the recent changes:

Roach supply nerf
Addition of Fury!?!?!
Ultra nerf

It's been a difficult run as a Zerg player as of late. Only viable builds lately are Mass Muta with lings, or Mass Hydra. Either way I find my self teching to Lair as fast as possible. Sometimes even delaying my FE.

Combine all this with the absolute melt down of the servers lately and I am quickly wanting to put this game in the trash. I'm trying to stay positive considering it's still in beta, but it's not looking too good.

Zerg got (and needed) a well deserved nerf. I'm sorry, I played SC:/BW with the Zerg. There was no stopping the offensive production.

Everything from lings to Ultralisks to getting rid of Defilers & Gaurdians...
Roaches needed a supply nerf. You can't 1v1 any basic unit against a roach unless its upgraded.

I feel you on this though:

Mass Hydra's are garbage now that they have an auto-enabled melee attack. If I send zealots with charge evenly distributed at
your line of Hydra's my stalkers will have a field -day doing simple micro/FF.

Fury is a good thing. However I'm still upset about Overlords requiring so many resources to be upgraded to Overseer's.

Keep in mind half the reason its such a long Beta is that Blizzard collects most of the data for proper balancing before launch.
They haven't made a bad game yet and are a gold mine in patches/support in comparison to most other large(r) companies (EA?)

The server meltdown was an issue with the patch. Nothing really hardware related. So far I'm told everything is fine today although I havent had time to play.
