I don't watch the OC, but if I did, it wouldn't be because I was gay but rather to have something to talk about with all the hot airhead girls out there that watch it religiously.

It would go: generic flattery, did you catch this week's OC, more flattery.

I'm guessing this is the trailer that ran? If anyone watched it let me know if it's a different one.

I'm glad to see that he didn't change Darth Vader. I lost interest in Star Wars after all the hype of the new ones so I don't even know if I'll see this one until it comes out on DVD... I know I won't want to fight all the nerds dressed up like Storm Troops at a theatre.

DCBuckFan: "uh... well... I can't say much, but wow... looks 100x better than episode 1 or 2.... "

I've been reading the stolen scripts & saw the stills on the various SW fan sites the past few months before Lucas axed them all last week. This was the real deal, not made up stuff by geeks.

The movie appears to be better than the last two, but let's face it: nothing will salvage the fact that Lucas took the biggest phenomenon in movie history and dragged it through the mud.

Episodes 1 & 2 are awful, awful movies. If you put out a Star Wars, it can't even be good: it HAS to be great, and those are far from even good. He had 16 years to come up with a great script and ideas for three more movies and this is what he puts out there?? What's worse is that they're inconsistent with the back references in the first three.

I think George Lucas is a lucky guy who tripped and fell over a phenomenal idea in the mid-seventies. He's a mediocre screenwriter, director, and producer. I go to his movies now expecting more Howard the Duck or THX-1138 than Star Wars or American Graffiti.

I could eat alphabet soup and shit out a better script than Episodes 1 & 2. That being said, the trailer for Revenge of the Sith looks great, and I will be shelling out my $9 to see it.

Why people continue to run-down Episode II, I will never understand. Attack of the Clones is entirely within the Star Wars genre...easily better than Return of the Jedi and on par with A New Hope.

I think a lot of people forget that Star Wars is simply the greatest "B-movie" series of all time. The acting and directing has always been sub-par in the series (Empire Strikes Back being the exception in directing). What makes Star Wars great is not the acting (though there are some exception performances by Alec Guinness and a few others)...not the editing...not the directing...maybe the special affects to a certain degree...but, ultimately it is the story. Episode II is a very good addition to the overall story of Star Wars, which ultimately is a story about Anakin Skywalker's rise, fall, and redemption.

People are also relying on nostalgia too much in evaluating these movies. When Star Wars broke on the scene in 1977, nothing even close had ever been done the way it was. Most of us were also between 5-15 years old when the first three movies came out, so our perspectives were limited and naive. Now we fast-forward to 1999 (when Episode I was released). There have been hundreds of Star Wars clones in terms of special affects and blockbuster science fiction films. Plus, all of us kids have grown-up, gone to college, and now watch the film with a more mature and cynical perspective. We can't experience the same feeling we did when we saw the first movies because are perspectives have changed.

Lucas' vision has remained pretty consistent through the years. It is the audience that has primarily changed.

How the hell does Palpatine get so evil? He goes from normal-looking to the nuclear holocaust look.
Well, first a space dictator threatened to kill his dad. Then, he became emperor on a statutory fluke and with the help of powerful friends on the galactic supreme court. Then, rebels from another galaxy attacked his planet and he responded with a limp dick effort against those terrorists followed up by an interplanetary invasion of a completely different planet. Finally, he was re-elected emperor after convincing everyone on the planet Enron that allowing gay ewoks to marry would be a betrayal of the force and proceeded to bankrupt the Empire through various ill advised planetary and galactic schemes fundamentally rooted in his penis envy of his dad.

I don't know why, but I always though Senator Palpantine looked like he could be Senator Lieberman's evil brother:
