Stephen Jackson/NBA ban (merged)

So you are saying that when they are getting off the bus and walking into an arena (their place of work) it is okay to look like a bum? Do you show up to work in shitty clothes or inappropriate cloths and then change in the bathroom at you work?

There is nothing wrong with asking these guys to have a proffesinal look when they show up for a game. It is a very relaxed set of standards anyway. Stern has even said that you can wear jeans. Most of the players agree that some of the guys have gotten to dressed down recently.

on the rare occasion that i actually watch an NBA game, when i see the team getting off the bus or coming into the arena, i have never seen anyone looking like a bum. the issue is with jewlery, and that is the problem. stern thinks it looks tacky. thats why i brought up the purple suit thing. if tackiness is his concern, then jewlery is not the only thing he needs to focus on. just cause a suit costs over five grand, doesnt make it a good looking suit.:)

my favorite quote on this entire matter came from marcus camby:

"I don't see it happening unless every NBA player is given a stipend to buy clothes."
-- Marcus Camby (who will make $7.15 million this season) on the NBA invoking a new dress code

this is why the NBA is a joke.

Yeah, that was just unbelievable. I should ask my employer for a clothes allowance and see what they say.
