Storm Chaser...Crazy or u decide

Not crazy at all, those chasers are very good at what they do, and typically know where the Tornado is heading.

I'm big into weather, always wanted to be a meterologist and still love extreme storms. I would love to tag along with one of these storm chasers and witness a tornado of that magnitude. I have witnessed 2 tornadoes in my life, and 2 waterspouts. Amazing stuff.

I was waiting for a cow to fly by...

The best tornado footage I've seen was of the guy that found cover under an overpass and the tornado passed right over him and he kept filming... it was unreal.

You gotta find that again! I want to see.

I remember seeing something on the Discovery Channel where you can take a "Storm Chasing Vacation" with professional storm chasers. They don't guarantee that you'll actually see a tornado, but they try like hell to get you in the right place at the right time. Even if you don't see a tornado, you'll see some pretty amazing weather. These storms fascinate me as well.

YESS! This is something I can get into. Whenever one of those storm chaser shows comes on Discovery or TLC, I am glued and can't get out of my seat. Even if I've already seen it 10 times.
I always thought it would be awesome to be a storm chaser as well.

The interesting thing about that Kansas footage from the underpass is that they say that underpasses are one of the worst places you can go but after that video made National headlines, people started seeking refuge there. The people in the Kansas footage didn't actually get a direct hit fromt he tornado, it actually only skirted them even though it looks like a direct hit.

One of the storm chaser shows I watched showed an underpass in Oklahoma where some people went to seek refuge and all you saw was blood stains on the underpass where the people were thrown around like rag dolls. All of the people who hid there were killed.

When I was in Jr. high school, a tornado came through the city where I grew up (Kalamazoo, MI) and really trashed the place. After the sirens went off we saw it coming from behind our house in our direction- after that we hit the basement. We got lucky, because it changed direction a bit and hit our neighborhood about a block away. We were out of school for about 2 weeks, and spent most of that time helping neighbors clean up their lives. It's amazing to see what a tornado can do.
