Stupid two point conversions (SimpLLLLLe Jim loves 'em, and so does James Franklin)

Nah, the 2 point attempt against Ped was perfectly fine. A single point isn't going to do anything for you there. You're not going to do any better being up two than you're already doing being up 1. But, converting and being up 3 is a different comfort.
I think he meant their 2 point try

Iowa scored to get within 28-23 with 9:33 left in the third quarter, went for 2 and failed.

Purdue scores a TD, Iowa then scores 2 TDs, getting ahead 36-35 with 10:19 left. They go for two and fail.

Purdue kicks a field goal with 8 seconds left to win by two points, 38-36.

Time to give Ferentz another COY award.

Agree. Stupid.

On its own, I don't think this was stupid. If you don't get it, you're confident you'll still get the ball back. So if the other team kicks a field goal, scores a touchdown, etc., you're still in the driver's seat. If you get it, you've got the chance that the other team will just tie it.

However, because of the first two-point conversion you brought up, you shouldn't be in this position.

Time to give Ferentz another COY award.

Can we just name it the Ferentz of the Year Award?
In all seriousness, I don't see how the booger-eater doesn't win it this year.
