Sugar Bowl: #3 Ohio State 49, #2 Clemson 28, Jan 1 in New Orleans

OK, they just said the B1G changed the protocol from 21 to 17 days. Does that get all our guys back for the game?

Nope. Unless Olave's positive came last Sunday (13th), he won't be back for this game. Same for anyone that was ok for Hate Week but was out for NW due to COVID. Like I said in Warren's thread, anything more than 10 days is a complete fuckup on his and the leadership's part to not match the other conferences. They have about one week to correct course before it's too little too late (affects how you practice and who is getting reps), IMO.

EDIT: I can't remember the specifics, but a quick calendar check says the latest the clock can start on being held out for COVID to be back for the semi on the 1st is Dec. 14th. Anyone starting the clock on the 15th or later is out for the Sugar Bowl.

Unless this team is fully healthy, coaches dialed in, Sermon pulls a 2014 Zeke and the defense pulls an 04 Alamo bowl (a prelude to the 2005 defense) over the course of bowl practices, then it's going to be a shitty way to open 2021.

I don't want to be a downer, but I have a bleak outlook on this game.

Pray I'm wrong though and Fields looks like the next coming of Andrew Luck.

Wait, the initial number being said was 17, now I just heard Davis and Day bounce around 10 in their interview plus a cardiac monitoring period. Seems like we need to get the full wording and explanation from the B1G. Looks like there's a small chance they didn't completely blow this, but still doesn't look promising.

I don’t care how this year has gone, I wanted Clemson and I imagine this team has had that on their schedule since last year. I like the underdog role and Dabo talking shit. If the run game stays intact and fields can play just Justin Fields again and the defense comes out making some plays on the d line then I like our chances. Big game for Shaun Wade to show he’s a first rounder.

The B1G leaders have been open and forthcoming during this unusual year, so I'm sure we'll get a clear announcement very soon.

That's the key for me. If that happens the Bucks can play with anyone. That's a big "if" at the moment.

Are we even sure Olave tested positive? HIs absence could be contact tracing and required quarantine-related too.

The rumors about him out of the B1G championship game started early. I pray he will be available by 1/1 because he is a integral part of the offense. With Olave yesterday I feel like it could have been a different game.

Can you imagine the pressure to perform that will be on Justin Fields ....

Playing in the biggest game of his life. Trying to avenge the bullshit from last years game with Clemson.

Knowing this is his "money game" to show NFL teams he can play at a high level against defenses with a pulse .....

And having said game being played against Trevor L, who will be anointed as the best ever by the ESPN crew.

I hope his hand heals and he plays to the best of his abilities on 1/1. I so badly want / need a win against Clemson.

I don't think we have anything "definitive" as far as I'm aware, but I think since he tweeted out the emoji and never said he didn't test positive (like other's have, or heavily hinted at), it seems a pretty safe bet that he did test positive. Hopefully it was a rapid test and they didn't get a PCR negative back in time and this isn't even a concern.
