Suggestion for a new College Football poll

Who would you choose?

I would like to suggest a new college football poll for shits and giggles (it is, after all, a slow time of year for the sport we all love).

Instead of the AP voters poll that votes whichever way the fickle winds of college football blow; I would like to introduce the College Football Color Analysts poll or CFCA poll.

Think of it this way. Who's opinions would you respect more of the following two groups?

Group 1 (AP)
Hooley - Cleveland Plain Dealer
Harris - Dayton
May - Dispatch
Daugherty (?) Cincinnati Enquirer

Group 2 (CFCA)
Bob Davie
Mike Golic
Chris Spielman
Kirk Herbstreit
Gary Danielson

Obviously I would take Group 2.:wink2:

I've gotta also go with Group 2, even though there are a couple of Domers in there. Davie and Golic are both OK, and they rarely do ND games.

Any system that would haveTrev Alberts and Dan Fouts voting is scary...... My mom, who is not really a sports fan at all, was even commenting about what an idiot Fouts was during the Fiesta Bowl.....May, Harris and Daugherty are OK in my book....I have heard lots of bad stuff about Hooley

I agree with your opinion...and I totally agree with the Alberts and Fouts call....but I dont see what you see in May. The guy is a MORON.

I voted AP, only because Trevie shouldn't vote for anything
Looking back at my original post, I would have to agree with this as a definite drawback. In addition to Alberts would be Mark May and possibly Fouts (the 2003 Fiesta bowl was a sham).

Another thing could be the fact that there are simply not enough color analysts out there to really fill out the poll. Regardless, I still respect most of those analysts' opinions over a majority of AP writers who cover college football.

Mark May and Trev Alberts should never be able to vote on anything related to football, so some serious conditions would have to be laid out for the second group to work (maybe a "football homer IQ test" or something).

I voted for group 2 but I thought that CFCA stood for the College Football Coaches Association. They are the only ones that really know what is going on and who is playing the best right now and that is even biased because they are more focused on their opponnets, they should be at least, than the polls.
