A pretty well tuned in person (those with scout $ access know him well) say that LeBron is staying in Cleveland. He also says moves are being made to bring in another superstar via a sign and trade. It's all but done, he's just waiting for the launch of lebronjames.com as that is the platform the announcement will be made. Pretentious? Yes. But, apparently the "home" and "loyalty" pitches worked. Obviously, this is one mans word, but he has "bonafides" and has been unwavering on that stance the whole time.

LeBron James : Official Website

it used to say: "something's coming." now it says: "getting closer."

whatever the hell "closer" means.

I'm starting to get the same feeling that he's staying. A week or two ago I wasn't too optimistic, but the Cavs seem to have gotten some momentum now with the Byron Scott hiring. I would love for that sign and trade to be for Bosh. Might also be Chris Paul, I know that Cavs have inquired to the Hornets about his availability.

Sources: Raptors OK with Bosh to Cavs

Everything is set for Chris Bosh to join LeBron James in Cleveland. Everything, that is, except Bosh's approval.

The Toronto Raptors have told the Cleveland Cavaliers they will do a sign-and-trade with them for Bosh, according to several league sources.
The exact details of the potential trade have not been solidified, but Toronto likely would get Anderson Varejao and/or J.J. Hickson, Delonte West and perhaps Anthony Parker. A draft pick could be involved as well.

Word is Cavs need to find a way to get a true center in town before Bosh is willing to accept. Possibilities would be signing and trading Shaq, bringing Shaq or Z back, or finding someone one with the mid-level. I would love to be able to sign and trade Shaq for a younger center. Ideally that guy would be Brendan Haywood. Its going to be hard to get a guy with the mid-level since Darko got more than that much a year I think. It was close anyway just don't have time to look it up right now. So best case scenario is trade Shaq for another center then move JJ, Andy, Parker, and West for Bosh. Then you still have the mid-level to bring in say a Mike Miller and the bi-annual to bring in someone else such as Al Harrington.

Correct me if I am wrong:) but wouldn't the sign and trade have to happen before Lebron signs his contract and if Bosh doesn't like Cleveland we might be waiting for a long time before James re-signed with the Cavaliers which I think everyone is thinking that he would do now but I have to think that there is some guarantee that Bosh is coming to Cleveland no matter what he is saying.

I will correct you because you are wrong. Cavs have no cap room, they are over cap as is. Bosh can be signed and traded to Cleveland at any point irregardless of when Lebron would sign. A sign and trade involves salaries that are currently on the Cavs roster. I'm not positive but the salaries have to match up within a certain percentage of the each other but just for the current year of salaries. Let me find a link because I'm starting to become very verbose.

If Lebron wants Bosh and Bosh is willing to come to Cleveland (I've heard mixed reports) then I think this deal needs to get done. It sounds like Lebron would need to sell Bosh on the amount of external money he could make in Cleveland. Personally If I were Chicago I would have made Bosh my primary target and then tried to use him to to nab Wade or Lebron. Bosh alone with the Bulls current roster would make them one of the top 4 teams in the East. The Nets would probably also be a good place for Bosh since they have a good young PG and C and he could be the first option. It seems like many of these teams were trying to swing for the fence and may strike out because of it.
I would love to get Jamison included in a deal for Bosh since he won't really have a place to play if Bosh is signed to play the 4. I'm not sure how the ESPN report would work out cap wise and I'd really like to hold onto one of Andy or JJ, but you have to give up something to get something so if it takes both they need to go for it. Jamison and Andy or Jamison, JJ, and West would probably get the deal done under the cap and probably work out pretty well for both teams on the court. Jamison would be a good fit for the perimeter based Raptors with JJ or Andy getting the paint since no one else on their roster plays inside the 3pt line. I guess it depends if the Raptors want to try to be good or rip up the roster and try to start over.
I would love to find a way to turn West and Mo into 1 good PG with Boobie getting the backup PG minutes. Mo isn't a good defender, but he was the only guy that showed up in the last game against the Celtics this year when it seemed like everyone else mailed it in. I give him credit for wanting to be in Cleveland. I would love the Shaq for Haywood trade if it could happen.
The next few days are going to be very interesting.

The Knicks answer to not getting LeBron.........

Agreement in Place Between David Lee, Warriors

The Warriors and Knicks have agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade deal that would send power forward David Lee to Golden State for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike, multiple sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to one source, the terms of Lee’s contract have been agreed to, the paperwork has been completed and all that’s needed are the pertinent signatures.

Oh, and one other thing: LeBron James needs to make it official tonight that he’s not signing with the Knicks. At this point, indications are that he won’t. But the Knicks want to make sure.

Should James pull a late surprise and choose New York, the Knicks would have to renounce the rights to Lee, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.

That would kill the sign-and-trade for Lee. However, if James announces he will play for Cleveland, Miami or any team other than the Knicks, then the Warriors have a deal, according to the sources.
A deal that would be completed by the end of today.

The Knicks still have myriad options regarding free agency in general and Lee in particular, and there remains a touch of uncertainty on their end. But the Warriors’ front office, including owner Chris Cohan, has green-lighted the deal and is only waiting for New York’s approval.

Lee’s deal would be for six seasons with an average salary of approximately $13 million, according to a source. The total package is said to be just under $80 million.

The price for Lee won’t just come in terms of dollars. The Warriors also must part with Anthony Randolph, a 20-year-old with plenty of potential. But what the Warriors get in Lee is more of a finished product, and a player who was an NBA All-Star in 2010.

The Warriors haven’t had an all-star since 1997.

Lee, who averaged 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last year for the Knicks, drew interest from several teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets.
