The North Remembers
I thought I'd start a thread where we could talk about concerts we've been to/will be going to this summer.

Last night I saw The Raconteurs with The Black Lips play at the Lifestyle-Communities Pavilion.

First, let me say that there can't be very many other places to watch a great concert than outside at the LC on a great weather night, as was the case last night. I was able to get a ticket the day of the concert and had a great spot in the grass to enjoy the show.

Onto the bands.. I had heard of the Black Lips before the concert, but never heard them. They were a really good opening act, and have actually made me a fan. They played for about 40-45 mins, which allowed them to play a lot of songs because most of them are short and fast paced.

The Raconteurs were absolutely brilliant in concert. This was my second time seeing the (modern times) living legend Jack White in concert and he did not disappoint. Their sound was flawless outside, and Jack was ripping through guitar solo after guitar solo on nearly every song. The highlight of the concert was when they played "Rich Kid Blues" and in the middle of the song turned it into "The End" by The Doors and then back into "Rich Kid Blues". Right after that song they played an 8-10 minute version of "Blue Veins" where Jack White had 4 or 5 guitar solos that were just freaking awesome. I tried to record some on my cell phone, but the sound didn't record very well.

Anyways, it was an awesome concert. Sorry if it is kind of a long post, but I look forward to hearing about great shows from across the US/world!

John Mayer 7/5

Dave Matthews Band 7/26

Both at Verizon Wireless Music Center about 40 minutes north of Indy...can't wait. Those are all I have planned though I'll try to look for more...(O.A.R. plays at a local venue on 8/15, probably look into that).

You suck. I got stuck at work and had to give my ticket away. My roommate got home around 11:00 and said the show was insanely good.

Looking forward to getting tickets this friday for the black keys

edit: Modest Mouse is coming to cinci in early July, but tickets might already be sold out.

Going to see Modest Mouse in Cincy on July 2...

Saw the Foo Fighters in Detroit in February. Unbelievable show from the FF. Played a 2-2.5 hr set with an hour of acoustic sandwiched in the show. Completely owned the place...

Some pics from the show...

Saw the Cure in the Toyota Center last night. They played 3 hours and 10 minutes. Longest show I've ever seen. Solid show. Also, seeing NIN in about 2 months.

Mothra: I've seen Foo Fighters twice. In my opinion, they are the best live band out there right now.
