I thought about doing the big party thing, but few of my friends out here have any interest in football (occupational hazard), and I would have wanted the party to include some actual watching of the game. I'll probably do a Scrounge Day of random mismatched goodies - maybe fire up the bread machine and make some soup. Too bad SC is too far for a jambalaya delivery...

Alan, you misread that... 21 is doing the cooking... and you flirted with the one that's taken... what do you expect... and you do okay... it was that DiHard guy who was a little intimidating...

Jambalaya's pretty good, though. :wink2:

Recipe sounds good.
Gumbo and Jambayla seem to have quite a few variations.
A true cajun will add their own tabasco for heat factor.

My wife and kids are in Orlando for a week, kids get time off for Mardi Gras.

I made a double batch of chili Friday. I make mine spicy and use beer instead of water. This time I used a big jar of picate sauce instead of tomato sauce for a kick.
I have been cooking thick, heavily doctored burgers on the grill.
I also have some vension sausage I have been snacking on.

Everything goes well with Abita beer.
I will definitely will be watching the game for the commercials this year.
