Taivon Jacobs (Maryland WR)

I don't know if there is a huge discrepency between the talents of Gibson, Whitfield, Jacobs or Elder. These all seem like slot type speed guys, whereas you have the more pure WR recruit group like Foster, Quick and Allen (maybe Stringfellow too if he still takes a visit, like he said).

I don't really post much but this kids film has DeSean Jackson and Teddy written all over it with the speed. The strides and the pull away speed... We'll see what happens. My guess is MD.

I've seen Jacobs play in person and the Jackson comparison is right on.

And if OSU lands him I will be ecstatic. Keep in mind he has talked about also running track in college. WVU has no men's track program and Maryland's was slated to be cut on July 1st along with seven other sports but raised enough to continue operation until December, at which point they need to have raised another $1M.

His father has said if he goes to a school with no men's track program he could still train with the women's team and compete independently. Also keep in mind he has a brother that went PG at Milford before committing to Maryland back in January as a part of the 2012 class.

11W - 2014 Quarterbacks and More

7/19

Few quick things from talking to another 2014 quarterback target, Kyle Allen out of Scottsdale (AZ):

Visit: "The day I flew in, I met with Coach Herman. I camped the next day."
More: "I was with Coach Herman most of the time, but I did meet with Coach Meyer before the camp and he said he wanted me to dominate. I talked to him again afterwards and he said he was impressed. He said they weren't ready to make a decision on offering any 2014 quarterbacks and they'd decide on who to offer late summer or in the fall."
Next visit: "I'll be back to see the Nebraska game."
Kyle told me Taivon Jacobs was the most impressive player at the camp.

Taivon Jacobs: The Maryland high school standout is choosing between Maryland, Ohio State, and West Virginia today at noon. I think this is between Maryland and Ohio State, with him becoming a Terp. I haven't heard much about his recruitment, so I could be wrong. Jacobs could be a very good slot receiver or defensive back at the college level.
