The holidays must be some fun at your house!
Of course you can always use the excuse I have to go to work.
Or go kill something that tastes like chicken.

yeah... it's a real blast :) she only visits for Christmas and Memorial Day ( my wife birthday is May 29th so she comes to town for that) We tried moving away from her but she keeps finding cheap airfare.

Mine live just far enough away so that they "can't" come when we need help with the kids, but close enough that whenever they want to go shopping or to the opera they think they can stay overnight with us. The worst of both worlds. Not that I'm down on my in-laws or anything.

My wife's father isn't around... hasn't been in her life since she was 8. He did come to our wedding, which was almost 8 1/2 years ago, and we haven't seen him since. Her mother is the most selfish piece of shit I have ever seen ( so many stories, so little time). I don't hate a lot of people but I hate her. Luckily my wife was raised by her grandmother and turned out to be a great person... nothing like the two ass clowns she has for parents. Unfortunalty her mom feels she has the right to come visit us every other month regardless if we want her to or what we have going on at the time. She'll just call and say that she booked a flight and we'll need to pick her up at the airport. Any hoo.... I hate the bitch

Oh geez, where do it start! I absolutely love eel, squid, octopus, jellyfish, and just about any raw fish (esp. yellowtail when really fresh). I must say, Mili, that I didn't like uni at all. Another thing I love is Tobiko with Uzura (flying fish eggs with quail egg yolk on top). That's pretty over the top!

I've also had alligator and rattlesnake.

Uni fan

Uni, when really fresh, is amazing. When it's not really fresh, it kind of tastes like toothpaste. And when it's not fresh at all, the previous descriptions are about right. But give it a try if you like other kinds of sushi.

OSUSushichic, you can't be serious that you like something as amazing (and little known) as tobiko with uzura and don't go for the Uni! You need to go somewhere that gets it really fresh and try it again.

Damn. Now I'm hungry!

Gator tail - liked it.

Rattlesnake - thought it was pretty much just an excuse to deep fry something.

Rocky mountain oysters - see rattlesnake, plus there's the disgust factor.

Black bear meat - REALLY good! Very sweet and tender when stewed in red wine.

I pretty much refuse to eat insects or raw shellfish, so the whole discussion of uni flies right over my head. Love raw tuna, though, especially when accompanied by a little shaved ginger root.
