I understand he doesn't HAVE to tell anyone what he is thinking, but if he's really only debating between 4 or 5 schools, then let the other 13 or 14 schools know so they can try and get other OL recruits and not wait around for him if there is no hope.

Plus, I'm sure his high school football coach would rather have 4 or 5 schools calling him instead of 18. His high school coach made Craig Roh narrow his list down because he was sick of dealing with all the calls. I'm surprised he hasn't made Lewan do the same thing.

How do you know he hasn't done that? I'm sure those schools have a pretty good idea of where they stand with him.

I don't know what he has said behind the scenes, but he has said he is considering all 18 schools and doesn't have any favorites. That doesn't sound like a comment that would suggest he has told anyone anything as to where he might be going.

You might be right, and he has let the schools know that don't have much of a shot. It seems most recruits narrow their list down when they get that many offers.

Why is it any of our business what recruits do? This is the one time between freshman year of high school and senior year of college when they have any leverage to cut themselves the best possible deal. It seems unreasonable for anyone else (including their HS coaches) to try to short-circuit that.

It's our business when recruits and recruits parents talk to reporters who publish stories about them in the media. I would never know he has 18 offers if he didn't contact recruiting websites every time an offer came in. There is a "Football Recruiting" section of this website so people can discuss recruiting. I'm not going to lose sleep over Lewan not narrowing his list down, I was simply giving an opinion that he should narrow his list down for the reasons I already stated.

There's a good idea...moving this one to the '09 forum because I don't see any real mutual interest here. Even if Taylor was interested in OSU there are a few other guys the staff is still talking to that are higher up the board...

From what I'm hearing, his dad is pushing him to Minnesota and doesn't like the thought of his son playing for Michigan since the dad played for Minnesota. I've heard Minnesota is the favorite at this point. Daddy likes the tradition of Big 10 offensive lineman.
