If union's words are to be taken seriously, which I certainly do, then this might have been the biggest pickup in the DickRod era yet.

Brand new to here. If you don't mind me asking, who is union and what were his words on Taylor Lewan?

Lewan was certainly a huge pick up for Rich, and if he is able to land Quintin Washington out of South Carolina then his back to back offensive line classes in 2008/2009 look pretty solid with nice looking tackle, guard, and center prospects. Reports on redshirt freshman offensive lineman Patrick Omameh, Ricky Barnum, and Rocko Khoury from the 2008 class have been pretty glowing. Sounds like each one may become a starter very soon. Then again, it's not like Michigan's starting offensive line is ultra-talented right now. Steve Schilling is the most talented guy they've got but he's playing out of position at tackle and he struggles terribly against the pass rush, especially bigger guys that can just bull-rush him and throw him out of the way.

I believe he was saying that he is not a top OT, rather a good OT in a weak OT draft...ie they would be reaching where they are drafting.
Yeah, I picked up on that .. and disagree. Did you not see him and Clowney go at it?

EDIT: I agree that it's a weak class, but that's not because of Lewan.

I didn't. But, I did see him get absolutely abused in Columbus. Did you see that?
Clowney > everyone else, and I don't think he was "absolutely abused" in Columbus, sorry.

I am sure most will see Lewan as overrated .. of course he is, he plays for Michigan.

Yea, cause the Cardinals couldn't use a top OT .. okay.

Precisely what UpNorth said, I don't see Lewan as being worthy of a Top 10 pick, especially when its an important draft for the Cardinals and their new regime. Could he be a decent NFL player in due time, certainly, but the skill set isn't there yet to be a dominant top 10 pick.

They don't need an OT, they need a quarterback. Having good o-line in the NFL don't matter if you don't have a quarterback. I would guess the Dolphins would take Matt Ryan instead of Jake Long if they could do it over. That's not a knock on Long or Lewan, it's just the reality of the NFL.
