TE Cade Stover (Houston Texans)

They likely said we cant put Chambers and Simon at inside linebacker vs 300lb linemen all game and expect safeties to make all the plays. Need some beef at ILB. Eich should be right at home but I thought that last game too. Got to let guys like Chambers and Hickman flow and shoot gaps not take on linemen.

vs a determined and capable run game, the OSU defense is currently in "I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would work" mode.

I say again, someone(s) need fired over this fucking mess.

This is Cooper level ineptitude.

STOVER TAKES FIRST-TEAM REPS
Cade Stover continued to practice with the linebackers on Wednesday, and although Ohio State offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Kevin Wilson described that as a “one-week deal” on Wednesday morning, it appears Stover could potentially be in line to play a substantial role.

During position drills on Wednesday, Stover was seen taking first-team reps at Sam linebacker alongside Steele Chambers and Tommy Eichenberg.

While Ohio State didn’t use three-linebacker formations much during the regular season, that could be an indicator that the Buckeyes are considering using more three-linebacker packages against Utah. Like Michigan, Utah is a run-heavy team that uses a lot of two- and three-tight end formations, and replacing a defensive back with a bigger body like Stover – who’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds – could give the Buckeyes a better chance of stopping the Utes than they did the Wolverines.

He was out there a bunch tonight. Anyone have thoughts on how he played? Seemed slow to me but I was too nervous to watch it very close.
He seemed to be in the right spot a bit but missed a few tackles. Walked up as the 5th DL a lot like they were trying to play something similar to Knowles style. Looked pretty good and issued didn't look like anything an off-season of practice and some more reps wouldn't fix
