TE Cade Stover (Houston Texans)

“To be honest with you, I was so happy when the opportunity came,” Stover said after the 48-45 win. “Just so much emotion inside of me just came out in that. I mean the ups and downs, we never felt like we were down. I was just so happy to be over there and be with my best friends.”

“The first week was a little rough but I mean, I’ve been at it here for about three or four weeks,” Stover said of the transition back to defense. “I’ve just had so much fun. Steele and Tommy and Bryson (Shaw) are my best friends, so it was just so nice to be a part of that room, be a part of the defense like that.”

I loved his sack stomp during the Rose Bowl. Had me laughing. More of that please

We couldn't even utilize a 5* top TE other than a blocker... I'll stop myself there bc we had so many great receivers. Point is that I think Cade has more opportunity to contribute on defense, particularly with his skill set. We can stick anyone at TE with the way we operate, he's wasted there imo.
I’d hope with Fry coming in we wont have to rely on the TE position to be a 6th OL/FB position. But we also might need Day to give up playcalling and let someone else be a true OC with Day giving input…

Wouldn't hold my breath with the success our offense has had.

I've always thought that it was pointless for OSU to even pursue top flight TEs, just get in state(or even tri state) bruising TEs that have good enough hands. We're fooling ourselves if we think this offense will ever truly use TEs, especially with Hartline bringing in the WR talent at such a high level.

Certainly the biggest development is that fourth-year Cade Stover is back at tight end. If it feels like Stover moves from offense to defense or vice versa every few months, it's because he does.

Let's hope this means several other LBs are really stepping it up and he'd get significantly more playing time as a TE.
