TE/DE Redgie Arden (official thread)

I just hope that We don't have any fans that think it would be a good idea to get revenge themselves on any Marshal fans who do come up for the game. Obviously the players who did this were a bunch of punks. I just ask that fans treat teh Marshal fans with respect. Nothing wrong with some trash talking, just don't turn it ugly.

High Street

Just to change the thread a bit...

My first thought was that it seems like the 3rd string guys were always out on High Street when I was at OSU. I never saw SpeilGOD or Karsatos or Carter out on High Street drinking and carousing ....but you could count on seeing the same dozen or so marginal players out all the time. Some of them were cool guys, and I dont' recall many of them getting into trouble, but it became apparent after a while why they weren't starters.

Anyone else notice this trend?

I can't believe any Buckeyes would be dumb enough to walk into a bar full of the oppossing teams players. He's from Ironton so he had to know that was a Marshall hangout.

Also I can't believe the lack of team discipline to have a blow out at a bar to celebrate the end of two-a-days. Gee, that sounds more like something that would happen in Athens at Ohio U. And we all know how well OU football program has done over the years.

I just think it is too bad that this has happend to both Marshall and the Bucks. It will bring a little tarnish to both programs nationaly.

Go Bucks

hey osugrad...thanks for the welcome...I like a highly contested game as well as the next guy.. big hits make for big fun...for the fans...And Clarity I don't like that situation as much as you all.. you all know the phrase kids will be kids...But somewhere along the way they have to learn right from wrong...And if this is how it happened it was wrong no way around it. So I guess I'll brace myself for the coming storm from other posters..Go Herd

Please remember that Coach Tressel has always said that nothing good will happen after 10:30 in the evening. Lets be realistic here, Reggie Arden knew where he was going and knew who would be there. He probably knows many of the Marshall players and just wanted to hang with them, but never dreamed a confrontation would occur. There was probably some words exchanged in a kidding manner and it may have gotten out of control. After all boys will be boys.

Why do i say all this? It's because i have been out there in those situations in my younger days and i have been in those skirmishes myself. I lived in a small town called Struthers and we had no love for our rival and vice versa. Alot of the players from both teams would be out after the games and well the rest is history. So for Arden it was an unfortunate incident that should not have been.

The wee hours of the Nocturnal life can bring out the beast in a man. Our testosterone levels can reach an unusually high peak in those hours. Hell its only natural i guess. And -oh- by the way, I have to agree with "Mili". When you reach a high level like YSU and Marshall did in the 1-AA of college football, you have to wonder if you are really that good. When Tressel was at YSU he was very interested in scheduling Ohio State. For some unknown reason, that never occured.

But while tressle was at YSU we did beat the hurd 2 times out of 3, for the 1-AA N/C. And the last time in 2001, Youngstown State did give Marshall all they could handle but they lost. Marshall has always respected YSU. But for the love of me, I had better think that Marshall had better gain alot more respect for what will take place when they come into the "Shoe" september. Cause they are going to have to remember who the coach of Ohio State is.
