It was CaneWarning 01 calling Ira & LI punk criminals and brining up the whole WW and KWII situations. He then tried to say it was all in good fun after I repsonded with, "Consider yourself banned. Thanks for stopping by though."

I dont think that the two of them were in the wrong place at the wrong time. A couple of the above posters asked why they were out so late. College kids dont even go out until after 11:00 in most cases. Go to any campus around the country and the path home from the bars will be filled at 3:00 in the morning. The only difference between LI and several other football players is that he doesnt have the sense to not get caught when he gets in a fight. I will reserve judgement on the robbery thing until more comes out.

Funny how some so-called expert at another site swore up and down that Izzy was a good kid and that his first brush with the law was completely out of character. Well, two incidents in less than a year is definitely a pattern, and the kid should be out of the program, and out of the school as well.

I'll reserve judgment on Guilford.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two Ohio State football players were arrested early Saturday morning and charged with robbery after an alleged incident on campus, NewsChannel 4 reported.

According to court records, defensive back Ira Guilford (pictured, left) and tight end Louis Irizarry allegedly tried to take a man's wallet at about 3 a.m. Saturday near College Road and West 19th Avenue.

Irizarry and Guilford allegedly punched Whitwell in the face, and Irizarry allegedly threw him to the ground during an effort to take the victim's wallet, according to a complaint filed with the Franklin County Municipal Court.

The alleged victim, Kenneth Whitwell, suffered injuries to his head and jaw area, as well as his right forearm and wrist.

Guilford and Irizarry (pictured, right) are in the Franklin County Jail. They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.

Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel suspended Irizarry from game competition indefinitely in October following an altercation. Assault charges were filed in that incident. Irizarry pleaded guilty in January.

Irizarry played in this year's spring game.

Not a pretty picture- sigh

:( I don't have the faintest idea why, but we seem to have more than our share of this sort of stuff. What is it about the off season where some of these guys run amok? We have all been impressed with Tress and his apparent value systems and what seems like care in whom he recruits, and then we get bit yet again.
I understand that virtually all teams have a certain amount of troubles regarding hot headed or stupid 19ish kids, but this is discouraging. Maybe it will turn out that the charges are not true. I sure hope so. But if not, I wonder what in the world a quality coach and staff can do to prevent this kind of stuff? No easy answer, I suppose, but this is frustrating.

Go Bucks!

The parents should have some accountability in this. Tressel can't play baby sitter to all the players. Of course, the players are the ones who are ultimately responsible for their behaviors. Being a nice guy like Tressel doesn't work with some people; it is seen as a weakness and something to take advantage of.

I was thinking about this and the only explanation that I can come up with is that season rules and off season rules are so different that the players feel like they have to cram every fun thing into a short amount of time. Maybe during the season they are kept under lock and key and then when the season is over they just go nuts with all of the freedom. I know thats what we did in college. It all goes back to the unwritten rule among players that partying hard is off limits during the season.

I dont know, just a thought.
