I know that there are several teachers here, so here's a question for you- Is it possible to get a teaching job (high school) without an education degree?

Not a teacher, but ...
I always found it ironic that you would need some type of licensing and at least a minor in education for the overwheleming majority of teaching positions in high school.
Yet at the college level, no such hurdles presented themselves.

yes....i am a high school teacher in florida and they will allow you to teach while going back and picking up the required education classes. you have to pass a general knowledge test and then pass the subject area exam. from that point the clock is ticking to get your classes done...a lot of counties here in fla have alternative ways of getting certified...
