AI is the biggest jerk ever. All he does is complain about everything. He is a huge ball hog and thinks he is the star of everything. The USA does not need a guy like that on the team. They need team players and will work with other, which AI can't do.

BTW, it's 2006, and AI is sharing the stage quite nicely with the other AI. AI is one of the only people who has stepped up and wanted to play for the team.

Reebok's only sponsored star doesn't get an invite to the Nike sponsored Team USA... hmm....

Whether or not Iverson is a jerk is irrelevant. The man can play, and he was the bright spot of the 2004 debacle. There were many reasons why Team USA only got a bronze medal, but AI wasn't one of them. He played his ass off and was not the distraction many feared he would be. I love his game.

He was star that horrible year because all he did was shoot the pass and score. AI is not a team player and never will be. You don't see AI out there having sweet assists to teamates like LeBron, Kobe, Arenas, and other big time gaurds do. I believe it was a very smart choice not to invite AI.

My Lineup would be:

PG - Arenas
- best PG in the NBA right now, he can pass it, drain a shot from anywhere, and can take it to the hoop like a big man
Backups: Billups

You've got to be a Wizards fan. There's just no other explanation for this comment. He's a shoot-first PG. That's the last thing an all-star NBA USA team needs.

I think it's time for Steve Nash to suck it up and get his American citizenship. Surely, someone can make this happen. We wouldn't even have him pass any test. We'll just go ahead and give him a sheet of paper that says "Hey, you're an American." That way, we can have the real "best PG in the NBA" on the team.

DUDE, plz come with good statements that are true if you are going to come with anything.

AI delivers more assists than any of those guys.

He can score on anyone too, he is the toughest player in the league, have you seen the commercials with all the injuries he has played with and had.

Also he wants to play, and you cant say anything against that.

Also to say he is a jerk is just ridciulous, if you havent seen the PTI with Stephen A. Smith that was a great example of what type of guy he is.

He is a great guy and someone I would put on my team everyday of the week.

He still gets a bad rap for that bowling alley thing that happened in high school, even know he wasnt even guilty, but he even says he jsut bit his tounge and went with it. He had offers to go anywhere in the country for football or bball but they were all dropped besides GTown who stuck with him.

Im suprised that Carter and Garnett were not invited/turned down. But the thing that suprises me the most is Duncan. His name is no where on any list and he is one of the top 3-5 best players in the NBA. Unless this year he decided not to play for the USA and represent the Virgin Islands or something.

I believe that all of these players made it public knowledge that they had no desire to be on the team well before they could have been invited. the same happened with Tmac and some others

Iverson has gotten a lot better lately, and not been running his mouth or getting in bad trouble. He has done dumb shit in the past, but I think he has matured past that. Besides, I believe he is one of the best players in the NBA, because he can shoot, pass, hustle, and probably the toughest guy in the NBA.

It's too bad that Artest can't get his act together, because between him and Bruce Bowen that would be one scary team defensively. What about Ben Wallace though? He would step up our defense greatly, and would be a monster in the paint.

Anyone who anwers Reddick to that question needs to go get a CAT scan.

i can't afford one. Also, its kind of a BS question. Those two are not going to be asked to play the same roll. If AI is on the team he is there to be a primary scorer. Reddick, however is there to be a spot up shooter and a roll player. It is not a question of who is a better basketball player, just who fits with this team. The answer to that question, I believe, is J.J. Reddick
