How’d He Do?

Tee-k did fairly well in the opening round. He did even better in the 2nd round. Unfortunately, the 3rd round, although it went well, didn’t go as well as needed. Tee-k shot a +3, 73 to finish the 54 holes in a T-30th place at +4 to par. The low score that advanced to Monday’s stroke play finals was +3. He was +4 on the round through twelve holes and scored a late birdie (#16) but it just wasn’t enough.

As he finished his front 9 (at +2), I felt that he needed 2 birdies to make the cut. Tee-k did get a birdie, but scored 2 bogeys as well. Here is the 54 hole leaderboard.

What’s it Mean?

It means the season is over for Tee-k Kelly. It also means that Tee-k should be proud of his accomplishments this year. Finishing in 30th place in a field of 156 golfers is no small accomplishment.

Tee-k had yet another clean round with 1 birdie / 4 bogeys. This is his 3rd consecutive round in Eugene where he shot nothing higher than a bogey. This is very solid golf at a high level. In fact, his team mates and coaches should be proud of his efforts.

One thing about Tee-k’s play was his consistency. During this season, up through NCAA Regionals, Tee-k averaged 73.3 strokes per round, or approximately 1.3 over par per round. In the three rounds of the NCAA’s, with the field averaging 73.1 strokes, Tee-k averaged 71.3 strokes, or approximately 1.3 over par per round.

Tee-k, that is a job well done. Thank you.
