We have a 50" Sharp TV and had it hooked up to Brighthouse HDTV box via HDMI. This box starts clicking like the DVR HD is failing, so I take it to Brighthouse and swap it for a new Samsung HD DVR box. I get up this morning and set up and turn on the new Samsung box and TV goes black, flashing lights on the front, and now that HDMI slot isn't working. The box works when connected via component cables. Is it possible for a cable box to fry an HDMI on a TV?
