Tennessee Titans (Official Thread)

Alright cool. I've been following the Oilers/Titans since Eddie was drafted there. We've had a few rough years recently but nothing we can't get through.

Think Volek will be able to use the TEs effectively? I think Bennett is in for a bigger year, because he works well with him. They've really missed Derrick Mason, at a surprising leve to me...Tyrone Calico just isn't the same thing.

Titans have good TEs for Volek to use. The real question is, who won't Volek use? He uses everyone out there. I've said it for years now, Volek is/was the best backup QB in the NFL. The guy can throw the ball like the best of them.

Bennett should have a huge year this coming season. He will be healthy and have a QB that throws 320+ yards a game. The Titans have most of the weapons needed to be a great team, they just have a few holes here and there...offensive line.

I'm a big Titans fan.

I agree with everything you said. Volek is a pretty solid QB, but unfortunately Young will need to get some reps in at the end of the season to further enhance his NFL experience.

As far as your Bennett statement goes, I agree 100 percent. Volek threw to him the majority of the time, two years ago, and both of their stats were mind-blowing. I could totally see Bennett having 1,200-1,500 yards this season.

Their secondary and offensive line are suspect, and if they could have filled those holes in the draft and the offseason, I could have seen them winning maybe nine games, or so.

However, I don't think it's too far out of the question to see the boys improve from four wins to maybe six or seven this year.

6 or 7 wins is not out of the question for this team. Fisher will have these guys back into a competitive team once the season starts. I think the secondary will do fine this coming season, not great but they will get the job done. Yes we lost Tank Williams but we picked up a big time veteran in Chris Hope and Pacman is a year older, and from what i heard doing great this offseason. We do have to remember the Titans where the youngest team in NFL history last year with an average age of like 24-25, somewhere around there.

I see the Titans winning 7 games this season with a great QB, tons of talent at RB, and a more veteran defense. Hopefully the Titans will get at least 1 Pro Bowler (which would be more then last year) this coming season.

So, what's that make him: three years old? I don't know why, but I'm not a big Pacman fan. The guy's a thug, and has been nothing, but trouble, although he has shown glimmers of talent in his brief career.

Also, the Titans should get at least one Pro-Bowler, in Keith Bulluck. He's rated (in what I believe) as the top linebacker in the NFL, and although that is pretty high, he certainly has put up Pro-Bowl numbers in years past.

If the Titans were in some sub-par conference in the NFC, I could see them winning 8, maybe even nine games.

But I can see them winning 6 or 7 this year; which would be nice if VY can maybe come in at the end of the year, and win a couple of those.

Don't sell Volek short...if he plays well early, that's going to be very interesting with VY towards the end of the year, a la the Cedric Benson situation in Chicago...do they decide to play him anyway? I dunno...will be interesting to see if Volek is a top 15 QB, but the Titans are, say 5-9, what they decide to do.

If they can get a handle on the RB situation, the offense will be better than people think...Bennett is in for a big year I think.

I agree, totally. I'm sure you guys remember when Volek started for half the 2004 season, and Volek hooked up with Bennett, almost every play (from what it seemed).

However, I'm a little worried about Volek because he looked a little rusty last year, when he played.

While he is probably a thug, he's also one of the best players on the Titans' defense and is going to take them to a whole new level. It's that kind of mentality that is going to make the Titans' defense that much nastier.

I think Volek will have a great season and get Bennett over 1200 yards receiving. Pacman was alittle out of it last year but i believe he will come into this season with a different mentality and become a great secondary player.
