Thanks Ron, I asked him to make me a sandwich in the oven and this is what i get. Fuckin leaves everything in too long. :smash:

Hate to second guess but Nathan struggled a little bit in his second inning of work. When I turned the channel back and saw he was pitching in the 12th I knew it was over and I don't even watch a lot of baseball. Would Torre have left Rivera in to pitch a 3rd inning? I doubt it.

Grady Little leaves Pedro in too long, ditto for Terry Francona, Gardenhire leaves Nathan in too long, Gardenhire complains that "God Bless America" is too long and his pitcher can't get loose, yadda, yadda, effin' yadda .. excuses, excuses.

DON'T BLAME THE MANAGER OR HATE THE PLAYA, BLAME THE MUTHA-EFFIN' EMPIRE!! Enjoy that Grill-Cheese, it goes well with a nice tall glass of HATER-ADE.

I thought Gardenhire made the right call. Who were his alternatives? Two lefties to face right handed batters?

Or a right hander with 27 innings of professional experience?

I think he made the right call. Had the Twins won, I bet you wouldn't be complaining.

Thump: "I thought Gardenhire made the right call. Who were his alternatives? Two lefties to face right handed batters?"

Actually, his alternatives were J.C. Romero or Terry Mulholland (two lefties to face A-Rod & Sheff, don't think so), or the world-beating Jesse Crain (Who?).

"I think he made the right call. Had the Twins won, I bet you wouldn't be complaining."

Agreed. A tired Nathan is just as good as any of his three options. Any way you slice it, this was the inevitable ending:

And props to Tibbs. Your Star Wars posts on these threads have been classics. And I agree that its time for Mr. Crumb to come to BP.

As a Twins fan I can tell you that was his only choice. There was no one left in the bullpen with major league closing experience. The Twins have the closer of the future in the bullpen a kid named Crain but he has only closed in the minors so I know why they didn't want to put him for the first time against the Yankees in Yankee stadium. The mistake was not having anybody ready to come in the game at the first sight of trouble.<O:p</O:p

I am still sticking with Twins in 4 though. Expect a high scoring game three the twins have hammered the Yankees pitching staff at the dome this year. Santana is most likely going to pitch game 4. <O:p</O:p

Stalk: "you really cant just fucking drop it can you? fuckin moron."

I'm not the one who's neither a Yankees or a Twins fan and started a "Thanks Ron Gardenhire" thread. Time to run a check, playa.

EP: "As a Twins fan I can tell you that was his only choice."

Here's where I disagree with Gardenhire: either way, you lose the game. To me, I'd bring in a Mulholland, take the loss, and not overextend my closer. You had a chance to win in it, but after that chance passes you by, realize that you got a split in the Stadium, go home, and get rested for the rest of the Series.

As of now, Nathan probably can't pitch for Game 3. Again, I can't criticize his move for losing Game 2. He was gonna lose Game 2 regardless. But, I think he did do his team a disservice for the rest of the Series.

you need to go find somebody that has extra sense of humor...and then see if they will let you borrow it. i know you should have more than just somebodys scraps....but even the slightest bit would help you.

He was gonna lose Game 2 regardless.

AKAK: "FWIW- I thought Little was right to leave in Pedro, too."

Pissing match aside, and to expand on what AKAK said, would someone like to seriously argue with me on the merits of Gardenhire pulling Nathan?

Or Little not pulling Pedro?

Anyone of these points, I'm right here. Other than the fact that you have no leg to stand on regarding last night, I'm right here & inviting your comments.
