That School Up North at Ohio State, 2/16/16, 7:00, ESPN

Dragurd, Loving did end up with a double double, and your exactly right about his game tonight. I hope this is a sign of things to come, 2 games straight now where things didnt quite go his way and instead of pouting he pushed through.

Actually, if we could finish the last 4 games 3-1, we'd have a shot at the Dance. :boogie:

I saw an article earlier today (I think it was on 11W) that said we just needed to finish the regular season 3-2 (in other words, we'd now just need to finish the last 4 games 2-2). The argument was that would put us at 19-12 overall and 11-7 in conference, and no Big Ten team has ever failed to get into the NCAA tournament with an 11-7 record in conference.

Yeah if he keeps that up it will great for the rest of this year and next. Also looks like he had 5 assists. Don't pout go out and do your job even if your cold. And you can have a great game.

Him, Lyle, and Bates-Diop if they don't get passive and continue to play hard when things go bad will be huge for this team.

This seems like a team that when they are motivated and energized they can be a top 25 team. But in general they lack something and it just is hard to watch. Great game tonight. Like the kentucky game they came to play but there were a lot of games where they just didn't look motivated.

Look at our RPI, BPI and kenpom rankings; they're all terrible. They'll all improve if we go 3-1 in our last four, but short of that we won't deserve it, 11-7 conference record or not.

We've had perhaps the easiest conference schedule in the league, which has an impact on our record. Losing to UT-Arlington is not something the NCAA committee will forgive easily.

Or La Tech or Memphis. And massive blowout losses to IU and MD. A win over UK + MSU/IA doesn't makeup for those trainwrecks, in my IMO.

Agreed, we could well be the first B1G team left out of the tourney at 11-7. Now, if we get to 11-7 by beating MSU and Iowa (loss to Neb would hurt, but getting top 20 wins would be more important) and win a couple of games in the BTT, then we'd make it. No shot at 10-8 without winning the conference tourney.

Guys, would you agree that if God shines his face upon us and we end up at 12-6 in the regular season, we'd basically be a lock? I know RPI, BPI, bad early losses, all that, but I can't fathom the committee thinking about leaving out a 12-6 B1G team with wins vs. UK, UM, MSU, and Iowa. We wouldn't have a lot of T100 wins but we'd have 3 really good ones.

So now take it down one game to a much more likely 11-7. I don't think it HAS to be MSU and Iowa. I think that would be a lot better, yes, but I do think if we win at Nebby and get one of MSU or Iowa then we still have a shot. But with 11-7, one way or the other, we need a good showing in the BTT. I'm not sure if it would have to be get-to-the-title-game good or not.

I do fully agree that 10-8 in conference nixes our chances at an at-large.

At least now I can say we won't be a sub-.500 team in conference.
