COLUMBUS (The Harbowitz Report)—Michael J. Gasser, Chair of the Ohio State University Board of Trustees, announced Tuesday that Ohio State’s football victory over arch-rival Michigan represents “a complete and total vindication of the Board’s decision to disregard facts and basic moral guidelines when deciding to retain Coach Urban Meyer.”

Gasser made his incongruous remarks inside a large, obviously oval, stadium known to all OSU fans as “The Horseshoe.” Speaking on the 50 yard line before an assembly of trustees, university officials, and a smirking Urban Meyer, Gasser commented, “The Board took some heat when we retained Urban. Some people felt strongly we should prioritize character, integrity, and the reputation of The University above winning football games.”

Then pointing triumphantly to a scoreboard still illuminated with the final score of 62-39, Gasser concluded, “But where are those naysayers today? I’m pretty sure hanging 62 points on That Team Up North fully exonerates Coach Meyer and lays to rest, once and for all, any concerns that this great institution would ever allow itself to put the ephemeral concepts of integrity and morality above the foundational cornerstone of our great University - winning football games.”

Following Gasser’s remarks, each Trustee prostrated himself before Meyer and ceremoniously placed the football coach’s cleated foot on their neck in symbolic gesture of pious submission.

I literally love/hate the DFBIA. Hate them but love how delusional they are.

They so desperately need to feel superior to everyone else that they make up crap to justify how they are better even in a loss.

The very best is that many of their fan base will tell you that they have the same academic restrictions as NW and Stanford. Which is an absolute false statement. All you need to do is pass the clearinghouse like every B10 team besides NW.

Also they will throw out that Bama can over sign and SCum does not do that. But yet if you look at how many players they have signed over the last 3 years since HAirball has taken over they have actually signed 1 more player (Bama - 76, SCum - 77, tOSU - 72). Now I get that maybe Juco guys are not in the recruiting numbers so maybe Bama gets a few dudes in that way. But in essence SCum is playing and operating exactly the same with the same rules as the SEC. They just are not as good......and that is something that DFBIA is unable to comprehend.

Listen making fun of SCum is like a never ending gob stopper. They suck and they just can't own it. Once they own it they will have a chance to get better.

A good barometer of how much we have hurt them is how much they insist other things are more important than their football team.

This game needs to be remembered in a special way. I think calling it 'The 62 Game' works - I don't think that will make anybody think of the 1962 matchup, or the 2062 matchup for about 40 years.

Changed the thread title to reflect that, and also added a reminder of ending some sort of 'Tour' that TTUN thought they were on. It's been good to savor this for a few days, but after today, this thread goes into the season capsule forum, and the CCG against Northwestern in Indy will be the only active game thread.

Good point. Remember, if you bring up how Ohio State has won X of Y games recently, they'll knock you back down to earth with their "we have still have the edge in the overall history of The Game" argument. Because, you know, games before a million years ago are remembered so fondly by today's college football fans. I forget the year, but it's something like 1907: if you're born after 1907, and you're still alive today, Ohio State has a winning record over *ichigan in your lifetime.

Then there's the overall number of wins record that they hold so dearly. Again, before anyone in the world was born, they took their team around to some local community colleges and dental schools, and even to a high school and taught them how to play football before starting a game.

They can take their moral superiority and give it to Chris Webber and the rest of their Fab 5 before asking Charles Woodson about how much money he made while at *ichigan.

Shea Patterson ended this season with nearly identical passing stats as he had last season at Ole Miss....when he only played 6 1/2 games.

Passing
Year
School Conf Class Pos G Cmp Att Pct Yds Y/A AY/A TD Int Rate
2017
Ole Miss SEC SO QB 7 166 260 63.8 2259 8.7 8.4 17 9 151.5
2018 Michigan Big Ten JR QB 12 188 290 64.8 2364 8.2 8.8 21 5 153.8

Is "Jim Harbaugh is a QB whisperer" still a thing?
