Hey I am as pissed as you all are about getting beat yesterday and your team didnt get smoked despite having almost 550 yards of offense...

But we both have very young talent at the QB, receiver and rb postions as well as some young studs on defense! ND even has a couple of soph's on the o-line.

In a year or two we may both be happy....

He does have a point, though. We've got what, 5 seniors starting on Offense and defense combined? The team has a lot of growing up to do, and this is one of those things they have to experience. The real test is what they learn from last night. By the end of this season, I think we'll be proud of our team, and the way they've matured in a few short months. And next year.... God help the rest of the conference. The Big 2 will be back in their usual form, and the finale will be a great one.

I'm not saying this year is a wash. Not one little bit. I'm saying this is a learning experience, and knowing Tress, it'll become a focal point for the rest of the year. We'll see a more focused, determined team next week, and look for good things to happen for us.

Nice try NDChump. But your team is fucked up much beyond ours. How many straight failed seasons have you had? When was your last BCS bowl win? When will you fire your next coach? Only an idiot would draw parallels to Notre Dame and OSU.

VPR,

I couldn't agree with you more, Am I pissed off We lost, Hell Yeah I'm pissed off, but this is a very young team, We had a record number of people from one team get draft into the nfl this past year. This team lacks experience and there is only one way to get that, and that is to play the games.

You can practice all you want, but the actual games are where you are going to learn how to make adjustments, and to become a leader on the field. So hell yes I'm pissed right now, but lets see where this team is by the end of the year and where We go from here

Youth cost us last night but it wasn't just the youth of the players, it was the youth of our defensive coordinator. One of Mark Dantonio's greatest strengths was making adjustments to what the offense was trying to do. Snyder had no answer for Northwestern's offense last night. I don't think he did a particularly good job against Marshall and NC State doesn't have a quarterback.

The young players on the team will improve with experience. Hopefully the same can be said for Mark Snyder.

Awesome points !!!! Hopefully Snyder will mature into his new positions too and learn from this as well as the young QB and other players.

NOTREDAMECHIEF,
ND has to work with some of those DB's. They got picked apart. Some because of just great passing routs and a really good Purdue QB, but sometimes it was awful to see how open the WR's for Purdue were open. You do have a good QB in Brady Quinn (a Columbus Ohio kid) there and if your WR's can work on some things they'll be competative. It was a bad day all around. Good luck with the rest of the year.

BuckNutty brought up a good point about Snyder being green, but I also think he needs to get his ass up in the booth so he can see the field better, ala Dantonio. You can't be a great DC today without seeing the whole field in real time. Tyler Everett cost us three points on NW's first drive by letting the pass go right through his hands, and it ended up costing us big time. If he makes the INT, not only does NW not score, but they don't get the momentum and the flow of the whole game changes.

Nice point. Our Defensive Coaching staff was outcoached last night/

I thought the team did some growing last night. It is tough coming off an early bye week when you are just getting your feet under you. Going on the road for a late night game was also a big factor. I can't imagine that it is fun having to sit around and wait to play after being off for a week. The B10 needs to look at that bye scheduling.

JZ continues to mature imo and made some nice runs and pitches when we needed them to get us to OT. Did he screw up a few, yeah, but he's only three games in to his career. I thought the line gave him decent time to throw. I'm not sure why the coaches had him rolling against his throwing arm in critical situations. I would have like to have seen us stretch the field a few more times with Hall and Holmes.

Pitman showed some flashes and I like the way he hit the hole quickly. We could have used him more on the swing pass.

why am i not surprised this is coming from a newb.
Why are you always ripping on posters for being "newbies" or coming over from bucknuts? just becasue people have less posts than you. Quit being concerned about peoples post count and post something constructive yourself.
