Here was my point bout next year. Shoot the messanger if you like.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
-Our line play so far has been less than impressive and I have not seen the improvement that goes along with talent. Typically talented kids get better. I am questioning if this group of kids on both the O and DS lines have the genetic makeup to impact games. We have no pass rush, Frasier is OK but not a game maker and I am not seeing the young kids make an impact.

-Our running backs are not that good. Ross, nuff said. Pittman, he's better than Ross but he is not there yet.

I am not seeing the impact back for next year. Maybe Haw? Ringer? Wells? Stewart? That is up in the air.

QB I see the light at the end of the tunnel. DB and linebackers we are solid. WR, Hall will be great but we need to see DJ and the other young 'ens before I can make any decisions, but they look like they will be good.

So, do I have a fear about next year, hell yes. With no line play, a coach that does not seem to be able to develop talent (alleged) and no for sure running game we might have issues next year. I am not sure how you can deny that except to shoot the messenger.

How can 18 carries for the year tell you anything about a runningback. How the fuck do we know Pittman isn't there yet!!!!!! Anthony Davis from Wisky gets over 30 carries regularly. You cannot find out what a back has until you give him 20-30 carries in a game. Seeing spot carries isn't giving the kid a chance. I runningback needs to warm-up and this kid hasn't had the chance.

I am one of the Buck's biggest critics, but I will tell you not to worry about next year, experience can do wonders, just ask Wilhelm. The Bucks are going to be alright, one loss does not mean we need to start pushing the panic button.

Coach T will get it done....I base this on his history of winning and developing talent. The guy can coach. What we saw on Saturday night was just simply a team coming out flat and the other team playing their best game of the year. They were up for this game and we were not, possibly looking past them to Whisky.

I respect your opinion Folanator but I have to disagree with the sense of urgency and worrying about next year, lets just take one game at a time and see where we are prior to the Michigan game. I still believe they will be there, that was by far the worst game they have played in three plus years, I have to believe Coach T will make the proper adjustments for Whisky.

Have some faith.

B'02Are you saying that he is there??? For whatever the reason he ain't. That could be PT, coaching, weight, youth who knows? Not enough data. All I said is that he is not that good yet.
I completely agree that he is not getting enough carries to get in the flow. Christ he pop's of some consistant yards and then he does not see the field for 3 sets of downs.
The coaching is so helter skelter with our backs it is unbelievable. The only consistancy is Ross, and that is consistanly bad.
Pittman should be the back along with Joe period. He is the future and he needs to see the field more. But he is not that good yet. Will he be???
Does it give me concern for the future when I see Freshman backs at B12 schools running rampant and our kids don't... hell yes. Does it give me concern for next year when our line does not improve..hell yes. Not sure why with all of those post you don't see it.

Thanks, and I do. That comment came from frustration of really looking forward to our ground game coming together for the NW game. I was so frustrated with the O line and our coaches discombobulated schemme of running the ball I was really angry. With that type of inept game, it make you wonder about if they can fix the problem that has been there for 2 years.
This other thread is because I have a numb-nuts (not to be confused with BN)throwing out what someone says because of a freeken post count.

I still don't think the O-Line has been terrible. With a RB that doesn't take 4 seconds to hit a hole (see: MoC, Pittman), they look like they can block. When a RB is so ineffective that he doesn't even keep the defense honest, the DE and LB can pin their ears back and rush the QB more often. The same can be said about getting left in obvious passing downs. I don't think our offense has been terribly timid, like everyone wants to say. However, Tressel's gameplan is based around the run. Without the ground game being effective, the entire scheme seems to be marginally effective.
