And we get to beat them in that [Mark May] hole up north? Makes it even better. It will be an early Christmas gift for myself overseas.

Looking back, I totally missed the most humorous part right after we won it. Harbro and JabriLLL both have to get a massive security team to the locker room to even make it, all while Speight aimlessly walks around dumbfounded and unnoticed on the field while we celebrate. Ah, memories.

Somebody tell me they still think this is a game

From 11W:

OHIO STATE FAN RECOVERING FROM BRAIN INJURIES STILL HATES MICHIGAN

While recuperating at Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Center at Ohio State University, the Dublin resident was given one button to push for “yes” and another to push for “no.”

“Do you like Michigan?” he was asked.

Lawrence immediately pushed the “no” button. And then — just to make sure everyone had heard him the first time — he pushed it again.

“He always makes a face when we mention Michigan,” said his wife, Meghan. “We’re pretty sure he’s in there.”

Why Gus Johnson is the perfect voice for Ohio State vs. Michigan

Gus Johnson will call Ohio State-Michigan in 2017.

CHICAGO — When FOX Sports acquired Big Ten television rights and used its top choice to air Ohio State vs. Michigan, one thing came to mind: Gus Johnson calling The Game.

Johnson, the announcer renowned for his energy and excitability, will now have a chance to call one of the most tense and emotional rivalries in sports. It’s a match made in heaven, and the pairing is more fitting since Johnson grew up in Detroit watching the Wolverines.

“As a professional for over 25 years, I’ve had a chance to see some of the great moments in sports,” he said. “But to be able to be a part of Michigan-Ohio State is one of those deals where real life exceeds your dreams. I’m trying to wrap my mind around it because I’ve never been to the Michigan-Ohio State game, but to be able to be a part of it makes me nervous. I have a lot of anxiety surrounding it. But at the same time, I’m so excited to dig deep into it and have that experience to chronicle the greatest rivalry in America in any sport, period.

“Being from Michigan, it’s the only game that matters.”

Don’t mistake Johnson for a Wolverines homer, though. He’s a consummate professional — much like Buckeyes-turned-broadcasters Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Spielman — who doesn’t bring bias into the press box.

In fact, Johnson went viral in 2014 for his effusive praise of Cardale Jones and Ohio State when the Buckeyes shellacked Wisconsin 59-0 in the 2014 Big Ten title game broadcast by FOX. He spoke of being introduced to the rivalry by watching players like Art Schlichter, Archie Griffin and Spielman in Ohio State-Michigan battles.

“I grew up watching Ohio State, understanding how dominant they were,” he said. “I have so much admiration and respect. Growing up as a Michigan fan I hated them, but I knew if we beat them that meant we were good.”
