Game Thread THE GAME, Sat 11/28 @ 12pm ET, ABC

Given the very real possibility that the seniors (and NFL bound juniors) have already checked out on this season, Tim Beck's performance to date and were I not an Ohio State alum, I would have been all the eff over Michigan +2. I hate to say it, but I am not at all confident of what might go down on Saturday.

My feeling about that is, if they have and consequently lose to tsun after a half-hearted effort, then that's on them. I know how to check out too, on other people who just don't care. I'll find other things to do with my time, but they are the ones whose names will be on the roster for that game result for the rest of their lives. If they give their best effort and it still isn't enough, so be it. I hope they all make choices this week that they are prepared to live with.

Why on earth would the players pack it in? Beat *ichigan, Penn State beats *SU, and we're in the B1G Cha*pionship. All to play for still.

We'll see the Buckeyes best perfor*ance of the year.

JUST BEAT *ichigan.

Not disagreeing with anything here, but the team shouldn't need any additional motivation beyond the jerseys that are lining up on the other side of the ball this week. The Game, as every other year, makes or breaks the season.

I love the fact that we are an underdog on Saturday! First time since last season. If I'm Urban, I put out a warning towards the potential individualism on this team. If anyone doesn't practice hard, they don't start on Saturday. I'd bench anyone who has "cashed out". Send a message that you still are Urban Meyer and you run the show. No player is bigger than the program. If they've cashed out, bench them and play the next man up.

Oh on the point of being Urban Meyer, it's time for the offense to start looking like an Urban Meyer squad too. Stop being conservative and throw caution to the wind. Stop playing tight and just go have fun. Let the cards fall as they may.

The flip side of our seniors checking out is that The Harbaugh is going to have that team wound as tight as a drum for this game. He'll be in full crazy mode all week, and I hope it prevents them from playing loose.

I was thinking about cutting the brake lines on his Segway this week, but you've convinced me we are better off with Harbaugh fully operational, so I'm shelving that plan.

Harbawl will have them fired up, ready to make a statement. They've turned things around quite a bit this year, winning THE GAME would be a big 'ol cherry on top of that sundae. Our boys had better be 100% ready for this one. I'm a little concerned about the attitude/motivation issue for this game as well. A lot of that is on Urban, too. Granted, the guys shouldn't need any additional motivation to get up for this one, but it's Urban's job to keep things going in the right direction.
A win here saves the season, no question about it. Regardless of what happens with championships or playoffs, winning this game makes for a successful season. And every guy on the team knows that.
Dig deep, dammit! Don't let "that team" write the ending to this season. Fuck *ichigan!

This is always an emotionally charged game. To heck with all the distraction. Play like your hair is on fire. Forget the media comments, forget the Elliott comments, forget they were heading for another playoff, and play hard. This Game supersedes everything else. Go Bucks. Beat ScuM.

I've no doubt there will be harassment from the fans up north, snide signs, and no question ridiculing smack talk from the guys in the ugly striped helmets. Hoping, if nothing else does, that that will put some fire back into the teams' bellies.

I'm not sure how the same couldn't be said about Meyer. Both coaches are pretty tightly wound. It's both a strength and a weakness as we've all seen.

This one should be epic. If either team plays tight then it reflects negatively on that coach.
