OK, there's been a lot of talk in the past of having a thread over at BNuts where people would post pics. In some ways I was a fan of the idea. Like many others, I've wondered now and again what some of you people look like. In other ways, I wasn't so much a fan of it. I mean, will my world stop turning if BuckNutty isn't the bongo man, or Tibs isn't Doctor Nick? It might. What if Bret isn't forcing himself on a sheep? Oh wait, that was a pic...
Nutty and I were talking, and we came to the conclusion (sorry BN if you don't want to take the blame in part for this idea - lol) that if a game was made of it, it could actually be a lot of fun.
Say 20 people decided to participate. They each send me pics, which I turn into thumbnails and post all at once in a thread here. The pics are each assigned a letter, the usernames of those involved each assigned a number -- well you get it from there. People have to match names with faces. It's a contest. Prize is as of yet undetermined. I'm thinking about either a helmet signed by Shawn Springs, or a championship recap book signed by Tressel, we'll figure something out.
First thing is first, I need to know who will participate. If you're in, and/or know of people who want to be in, say so in this thread. As I will know who everyone is, I will not be participating, but I will post my goofy mug for all to see just to be fair.
This could be fun, and it could be scary. I mean, we all know what SusanZ's daughter looks like, there are only a scant few inches of real estate we haven't seen. I don't need to see that much of Mili (for example), but matching a face to the name could be a good time. And don't worry about the pics, everyone will be going up at the exact same time, no one will stand out and be isolated on their own, it's probably the least obnoxious way anyone could do a picture thread. I hate pictures of myself, but like I said, I'll go up too. If I can do it, the rest of you can.
So chime in and start thinking about what picture you want to use. If you don't have access to a scanner, you can mail me the pic, I'll scan it in, and mail it back to you. Alternatively, Kinkos and similar places can usually do the same except right there on their premises.
Spread the word. We may have to drag a few folks from Bucknuts over here kicking and screaming, but the more that participate, the more fun this will be.
