First Rounder Blaine Gabbert went 9/16 for 85, for a pass rating of 71.1

Third Rounder Ryan Mallett went 12/19 for 164, for a pass rating of 108.2

    Go Pats!

He looked very sharp last night. His accuracy is heating up the local sports talk airwaves. Stupid New Englanders have zero clue about college football, most Pats fans have never even seen him play...Sorry for the mini-rant.

The Patriots picked up the best arm in the draft, hopefully they don't turn him into Drew Badthrow version 2.0.

That's because none of them had to face the same guy that Andy Dalton had to face...

    [ame=""][2011] Preseason Wk.1 - Suh flagged for slamming a helmet-less Andy Dalton - YouTube[/ame]

RAAAAAAAARRRRRRR he said. I'm sure someone will turn this into, "What is Pelini teaching those kids? Is this what the Big 10 likes to do to people? Pelini went to Ohio State. It's Ohio State's fault, look at what happened last year..."

I thought Ryan Mallet in the 3rd round was a steal. He is either going to be prime trade bait or the next starter for them.

Kind of surprised that Suh did that to Dalton. Didn't think he was that kind of player.

I'm not so sure he could see if the ball was released.

edit: after further review, unless his eyes were closed, there's no way in hell he didn't know. :slappy:

I know these guys aren't in college anymore; but my spreadsheets calculate NCAA passing efficiency, so that's what you get.

Just thought some might be interested...

    Ryan Mallett against NFL defenses
30/47(64%) for 300. One pick. One touchdown. PE 120.21
Ryan Mallet against the Silver Bullets
24/47(51%) for 277. One pick. Two touchdowns. PE 110.36

    Yeah, I know.

I'm not suggesting that Ohio State's defense is anywhere in the vicinity of an NFL defense. I just think that's a pretty cool comparison in spite of the holes in it.

I was shocked on draft day that Mallet fell that low. The fact that Kaepernick went that far ahead of him is an absolute joke, and doesn't bode well for Harbaugh's likelihood of success in the NFL.

I knew someone would say (part of) it anyway.

Zurp I have misplaced my pants.

Is that the same formula used for each? Is that the college formula or the NFL formula?
