The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL)

Ok one thing I don't get. They said Buckeye Swag was started last year.

I could have sworn I've heard it played since I swear 2004 or 2005

They didn't play it as much as they do now, but I distinctly remember something sounding exactly like it (including the OOOOOOOOOOOOHIOOOOOOO!

I've heard other teams play that tune before...

Props for the band from EDSBS. Nothing we didn't already know, but nice to hear it from an outsider to the rivalry.

15. Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State/Savannah State. I remember the Ohio State band nailing a straight line across eight yards of formation, and the Michigan band doing a half-assed boogaloo before farting away quietly for the remainder of their show. The Best Damn Band in the land is an affront to college marching bands in the sense that they appear to work hard, have discipline, and wear clean uniforms while playing a mean version of Stravinsky's Firebird.

16. That is a compliment, because all of those things are usually good, and it makes other college marching bands look bad in comparison when you're all good at things. Well-done.

I'm hoping he meant eighty yards? Eight yards of straight line isn't really all that impressive, but maybe the band up north couldn't handle it. :)

I just got an IM from a guy I work with who just watched the MJ show after another co-worker showed him ....

I had to IM you. I just watched the Ohio State Band do a tribute to Michael Jackson. It was the best performance I have ever seen. I went to a Historic Black College and I have seen some amazing performances but by far that was the best. Wow...

The TBDBITL halftime shows have been really good this year. They are even noticing it in LA:

Ohio State's marching band puts on another spectacular halftime show

Though Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer probably has his players buying into the one-game-at-a-time mantra, the same can't be said of the school's marching band.

For weeks, the Ohio State marching band has been putting some Michigan smackdown elements into its halftime shows, despite the fact the Buckeyes won't line up against their longtime rivals until Nov. 30.

Much like everyone else outside of Ann Arbor, Mich., the Ohio State band knows the Buckeyes are better than the Wolverines this season, and this brash confidence has inspired some truly incredible halftime shows.

During Ohio State's 63-14 win over Penn State on Saturday, the band put on another well-choreographed display of on-turf magic. They call themselves "The Best Damn Band in the Land," and it's hard to argue that title based on the creativity of their shows.

Check out the entire halftime show in the video above -- the Michigan bashing comes near the end.

P.S. Penn State had their "Blew Band" at the game Saturday and they did blow.
