The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

Here are some sobering thoughts and results from B1G games against other power 5 conferences:

https://www.cleveland.com/osu/2019/09/ohio-state-fotball-is-rolling-but-does-the-rest-of-the-big-ten-stink.html

I think this column needs some context:

  • Only one conference has a record more than game above .500 against OOC P5 teams - the Big 12 at 6-4.
  • The B1G has the second highest OOC record, trailing only the Big 12.
  • The B1G has by far played the fewest FCS opponents of any P5. The Big 12 has played 8 of 27 games against FCS:rofl:
I could go on, but to get to the point, EVERY conference stinks this year. Each conference has no more than 3 teams that matter, the rest is a mass of teams that range from mediocre to lulz. And at the end of the year, what happens on the field will do little to change the narrative that is already written:
  • The SEC! will have 14 teams in the top 10
  • The ACC will (beyond all odds) have 2-3 teams squeezed into the bottom of the top 25 so Clemson's schedule doesn't look worse than (insert UCF/other G5 Cinderella)
  • The Red River Rematch will be used to prove the playoff-worth of whoever wins
  • The PAC will be afterthought because teams who haven't blown it yet don't have the right names on the front of the jerseys
  • The Buckeyes are the only team in the B1G that will can get a mulligan (well only team that can get a mulligan and whose coach isn't on the spectrum)
