The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

I think a team only has one rival and those should remain intact. I think the regular season should be reduced a game to two minimum.

Perfect place for this, from the Pirate Genius

You can keep a rivalry game "intact" but you can't keep it from meaning less once you expand the playoffs. The regular season CFP, specifically rivalry games, are the most fun and unique thing in all of sports.

I can't agree with any effort to diminish that so we can see #16 get trucked by #1. Hell, look at the difference most years between the top 2 and everyone else. Very few of the semi final CFP games have been competitive in the fist 6 years but we want to be "fair" and let a team like tsun or Penn State in? Why?

2020-2021 Combination Football and Basketball Rankings Top Ten

The ten schools that did the most in 2020-2021 in the two major sports.

1 Alabama

2 Ohio State

2020: 6 2019: 3 2018: 3
Football: 7-1 overall, 5-0 in conference, 1st in Big Ten East*
Basketball: 21-10 overall, 12-8 in conference, 5th in Big Ten

An argument could be made that Ohio State deserves to be a whole lot lower after the embarrassment of losing to a 15-seed in the NCAA Tournament, but football overtakes that. Winning the Big Ten title and exorcising the Clemson demon after the rough loss the year before made up for the hoops gaffe.

3 Baylor

4 Liberty...

5 Oregon

6 USC

7 Oklahoma

8 Clemson

9 Texas

10 Florida

Did they not see the last few years a 4th team argubly didn't belong most years and they want to add more

They dont care, they are going to keep fucking with it until they ruin it.

Just sayin': It doesn't matter if a 4th, 5th, 6th, or.....etc. team belongs it or not, expanding the CFPs to more teams will be the made based on finances. It's all about the money.

I would love to see a six team playoff with 1 and 2 getting a first round bye and 3 and 4 playing home games against 5 and 6.
This is as far as I want it to go and would be fine with it. P5 and one at-large. Regular season still matters to get a bye and only need 2 wins.

Makes the conference champ games essentially playoff games too, so you’ve got “10 teams” in a way. But they don’t care what I want.
