The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

i agree with much of your post, but i don't think it's a "probably" that we would not have played iowa if we had instead played 8 conference games.
I didn't say anything about Iowa or Ohio State's 9th game.. what is this Twitter where you just make up things nobody said and respond with nonsense ?
I started this conversation saying I think we didn't deserve to go, and never brought Ohio State back into the conversation.

You make up teams nobody played (Kent State), and you don't even read the posts you're responding to ... waste of time talking to ya.
buddy, i think you're getting a little too worked up over this and taking this a little too personally. look at whom i was responding to. are you buckeyebiz?

My bad. I responded to the most recent "quote" notification from Buckeyebiz which juxtaposed my post against yours.
That said; Bama still hasn't played anyone and still lost in a game that wasn't close to Auburn -- managing to dodge the SEC CG.
Everyone, including 3-loss Auburn, had a better claim to #4 than Bama.

so who deserved to get in over bama if not osu? auburn, with their 3 losses? wisconsin, whose résumé was no better than bama's? usc, who played in a lackluster conference and had 2 losses, one of them being by 35 points?

i guess the point is that if you're a program that didn't make clear its case for a playoff berth, don't complain when you're left out. osu could have not lost by 31 to a middling team. wisconsin could have scheduled a good conference opponent. usc could have not been shellacked on a national stage. auburn could have not lost 3 games. so, yeah, if i'm looking at a bunch of programs with roughly similar résumés, i'm defaulting to arguably the best coach of all time who is running arguably the best program of all time that is arguably on the best run of all time. to be sure, bama under saban ain't losing 31-0 in the playoff.

There probably haven't been many as absurd as a full-time baseball reporter (who likely shouldn't even have a poll vote in the first place) dropping someone 20 spots after beating a P5 opponent by 46 points.
jon wilner says hello.
Who dat? What absurd vote did he cast?
wilner is the sole voter who has us below 7th in the newest ap poll, which has just been released. osu is ranked 4th. wilner has us at 11th and dropped us one spot from last week to this. we're 4th in the poll from the baseball reporter (jonny miller).

This is why polls like the AP are stupid. Obviously Wilner has some bone to pick with tOSU and he is not voting based on the product on the field. Probably has Clemson followed by most of the SEC ahead of us....

He's a PAC shill... not sure what his issue with Big is, but throwing it out there for laughs.

Alabama passes Ohio State for most weeks atop AP poll

Alabama is No. 1 at being No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll.

The Crimson Tide have made their 106th overall appearance at the top of the AP rankings, which started in 1936, passing Ohio State for the most by any school.

Alabama received a season-high 54 first-place votes from the media panel in the Top 25 released Sunday, strengthening its hold on No. 1 over No. 2 Clemson. The Tigers, who started the season with 18 first-place votes, are down to six after hanging on for 28-26 victory at Texas A&M on Saturday night.

No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Ohio State held their spots and Oklahoma moved to No. 5, edging past No. 6 Wisconsin. The Badgers received a first-place vote.

Looks like he has a problem with OSU more so than the Big10. Wisky has looked way more mediocre than us versus non P5 competition.

Lol Free Shoes got a vote in the AP Poll and a total of 17(!!) points in the coaches poll.
