The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

Looks like he has a problem with OSU more so than the Big10. Wisky has looked way more mediocre than us versus non P5 competition.

Lol Free Shoes got a vote in the AP Poll and a total of 17(!!) points in the coaches poll.

My take from his poll is that he knows the PAC sucks, but he's decided the Big should suck more. Everyone knows at least 1 conference has to be left out of the Playoff.
Before every single Big school is a PAC school ... though generally I think his rankings of other Big schools isn't too far off.

Love how ESPN does bowl projections starting week 1. To make it look "unbiased" they let two dudes make their picks.

Wanna guess which teams they have playing in the Championship? Here's a thought.... Just schedule Bama & Clemson DURING THE REGULAR FUCKING SEASON! Tards.

If you look at the AP poll week-to-week, ballot-by-ballot, then you are going to find a whole lot of stupidity.

If you look at the AP poll over the totality of its 82 years in existence, you are going to find that the voters picked the "right" national champion far more often then not.

I like the AP poll. I like the history of it. The poll has been fair, even generous, to Ohio State. I say keep it around even if it is a bit anachronistic at this point.

I disagree. The AP poll brings history and context to the sport. I love the rankings on how many weeks a team was ranked, ranked #1 or all time top 5 finishes. Besides since we're number one in only two of the three categories, I'd like to nab the last one before they shut it down.

At the very least it should go away until November.

Voters have proven to be too ego driven to consider their preseason ranking was way off (and realistically most top25s will be trash bc everyone is guessing).

Throw in cheerleading for local teams/conference, intentional pot stirring for clickbait... and the polls' refusal to do any self policing of bad actors... it's junk.

Half the pollsters make Adalaide Byrd appear reasonable and informed - i mean at least she watched the matches even if she is blind as fuck.

The issue with the polls (and media in general) is wondering how much influence they have on the CFP committee.

It's like going to trial for murder after having the jury listen to the media calling you a murderer for 6 months. Sure they are supposed to go behind closed doors and only deliberate on the facts of the case but they are human so it's hard to feel like you are getting a fair shake.

SEC math:

winning team goes up +7
losing team only goes down -4

ESPN and the SEC are net +3 out of the deal

Double Bonus SEC/Clemson math:
Texas A&M jumps up 4 spots for beating LA-Monroe (sun belt FBS) 48-10
Before the loss to Clemson they had 84 votes
After the loss they received 87 votes
This week after beating LA-Monroe they jump up 4 spots to #22
Their resume now includes wins over NW State of the FCS, LA-Monroe and a loss to Clemson

Gonna have to explain to me how OSU is behind Clemson. Georgia I can see if I squint hard enough due to their dominant win over SCe. Clemson doesn't have one better win than OSU and has looked worse to boot.

because they beat OSU two years ago

SEC/Clemson wins are forever, losses are just a bad game

do you even eye test bro?
