The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I liked the episode overall, but there were definitely some parts I could have done without. Everyone has already pointed out how bad Henry sucks, so that is low hanging fruit at this point. But really the mind-numbing stupidity for not finishing Beta off in the elevator shaft is what bothered me...of course that didn't kill that giant fuck and you knew what was about to happen as soon as Darryl pushed him off and you heard him hit so quickly. But overall, I like where the story is progressing and there were some parts I really like. I am definitely still intrigued on the Whisperers and the new group might be entertaining for a little bit. You get the feeling that the fair is going to go down in something terrible but hey, that is what is fun to watch.

Ok I thought this episode was shit. They’ve done the flashback thing soooooo many times. Plus because it was a flashback, there was really no shock value to the proceedings. And Michonne getting punked like that was just...I don’t know. It all might have had some impact if this was the episode after Rick disappeared, but now we’re supposed to be moving on to new people and new threats...why go back now? An extra hour of them battling the Whisperers would have been way better.

It was a little contrived. We basically watched a plot vehicle intended to explain why Michonne went all isolationist, etc. The problem is that it didn’t really do that, in my humble estimation. Backstory dropped in should at least be effective at making the larger point you’re trying to make. The takeaway was, “the world is now dangerous” - nothing new about that. Just adding dangerous children (who were almost immediately wiped out) to the mix doesn’t really make any difference.
